Since 2008, One Stop Training has been working hard with our students

and trainees to create positive learning outcomes which can lead to

genuine employment.

We want to see you pass and succeed as much as you do. There is no

benefit for us in our trainees struggling with a course, so we build our

training programs to be informative, engaging and understandable.

WHAT IS THE SKILLSPACK? The SkillsPack is an opportunity for you to choose your career pathway in

the Logistics Industry. It is combination of Units of Competency that have

been created to deliver skills that can be applied to a variety of job types, in

a very diverse industry.

The goal of the SkillsPack is to increase a person’s opportunity of finding

employment. This is done by creating not only skills but the confidence to

apply them in the workplace. The SkillsPack is also a pathway for an existing

worker to improve their current employment circumstances, through

WHAT IS LOGISTICS?


AUSTRALIAS LARGEST EMPLOYER

It’s kind of a big deal. The largest industry, and largest employer in Australia

moving goods from one place to another.

• Everything that is imported passes through the Logistics chain

• Every product that is sold passes through the Logistics chain

• All goods that are consumed pass through the Logistics chain

• Everything that is manufactured passes through the Logistics chain

• Everything that is constructed passes through the Logistics chain

It is the industry that keeps Australia running, so it is important now, and

will be more important every day into the future.

People will always buy items, consume goods, make products and construct

objects.

Bringing all these items together at the different stages, is called the

Logistics Industry.

Road, rail, air and sea.


ARE THERE JOBS?

The logistics industry is a $40 billion part of the Australian economy. There

are 185,000 employers in the industry, employing nearly 400,000 people.

The average age of the industry is falling, as older workers retire, bringing

the average age to 44 years.

Across the industry, considering factors such as shift work and overtime the

average wage is $66700. This is 49% above minimum wage.

3.3% growth is expected yearly to 2023, which is equal to 55,000 jobs

nationally between now and then. 700,000 jobs predicted over the next 25

years.

Female participation is increasing. It has grown by over 10% in the past 8

years increasing diversity in both operations and administration.

Some of the main challenges are around people:

• having the right ones

• with the right skills

• 700,000 skilled people over 25 years don’t fall from the sky

• they must be created, developed and lead

The industries next leaders and innovators may not even be in the industry

yet – this is where training and education comes in.

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?

Generally, most people complete the entire SkillsPack – the Certificate III in

Logistics plus their SkillsPack elective within three weeks.

Part 1: We always start with a two-hour information session prior to

the course. This is where you can learn about the program, ask

any questions and make an informed decision about your

education and career options.

Part 2: The SkillsPack can take a nominal period of up to four weeks in

most cases.

As a general example, the Logistics course may be delivered

over a two-week classroom period, full time 8:30am to 3:30pm

as face to face learning. This may be followed by a period of

home study, depending on individual progress and ability.

We hold regular catch-up days to work with anyone who may

need support with the Logistics course.

Part 3: Machinery elective: three days full time, from 8:30am to

4:30pm

The session is no cost and take approximately two hours.

INFORMATION


IS THERE A COST?


YES, THERE HAS TO BE

It would be great to offer fee free training, but it is not possible or legal. We

keep our student fees as low as possible, so everyone has access to quality

training.

Depending on eligibility, funding may be available through the Queensland

Government Certificate 3 Guarantee Program.

Legally there must be what is called a student co-contribution. This can be

paid by you, a friend or family member, an employer or a Job Active

provider. It is not permitted to offer free training, nor is it permitted for the

training provider to pay the fees.

The total student co-contribution costs are:

2019 year 12 graduate $0.00 free of charge

Concessional student $13.00 ($1 per unit)

Non-concessional student $50 (3.84 per unit)

This is not due up front at the information session – but it must be paid

during the first days of the course.

If you wish to pay for the full course yourself, the fee is $1250, and Afterpay

is available.


AM I ELIGIBLE?

Being Queensland Government Funding, there are some eligibility criteria

that apply.

We will go through this in detail at the information session and can answer

any additional questions you may have.

Not everyone knows which courses they may have enrolled in in the past,

and that’s OK. We can check all these things for you.

To start with, ask yourself:

• I do not have a Certificate III qualification already

• I do not have a qualification higher than Cert III

• I am not enrolled in a Certificate III qualification

• I am not enrolled in a course higher than Cert III

• I am an Australian or New Zealand citizen

• I am an Australian permanent resident

• I am a Queensland resident

• I am over 15 years of age

If this sounds like you, you may be eligible for funding assistance under the

Certificate 3 Guarantee program.

If you are eligible, we take care of the administration.

For those who are not eligible, there are still options.


It may not be over – there are options if you already hold or are

currently enrolled in a Certificate III or higher qualification.
