Program Ponderings By: Liz Beise, Director of Programs
Our early “4th of July” Picnic was a great success!!
The weather was beautiful and the food was
delicious!! After dinner, we enjoyed the rousing music
of the “South of the River Band”. This 65
person band was amazing!! A huge thank
you to all the staff and volunteers who
helped the picnic run smoothly.

KINGSLEY SHORE’S PROGRAM TEAM Director of Programming: Liz
Program Assistants: Joannie, Cathleen,Elizabeth
It is with mixed emotions I write this article. Carly, our wonderful program assistant, will be starting a new journey in August. She is finishing up her Occupational Therapy Masters Program with internships. She will be focusing on her internships and will no longer be with us. We are so thankful for her sweet, caring spirit and we wish her well on her new adventures. We have hired Elizabeth Chene as our new program assistant. Make sure to stop and introduce yourself when you see her. Joannie will be rejoining our ac-tivities team starting August 6th. She will be working weekends in Reflections. We are thrilled to have her back!
Mark Your Calendar Everyone!
On Tuesday August 2nd at 9:30 am, we have a guest exercise volunteer, Susan, coming in to lead a 30 minute class in the Activity Room.
We are honored to have a special K-9 Officer Demonstration by our local Lakeville Police Department on August 12 at 1:00 pm.
August 10th 1:30pm we will be putting together gift bags to pre-sent to the Lakeville Police. See the bulletin board for suggestions of donations.

A friendly reminder to Assisted Living residents and families of Memory Care Residents.
Please sign out on the clip board with the sign that says: “Memory Care and Assisted Living Residents’ Sign Out Sheet” at the front desk when leaving the building.
This is the first place we look when a Resident is not in their apartment, so it is important!

Food for Thought
We are excited to announce that we will have a new
Campus Director here at Kingsley. Her name is Kathy
Johnson and she will be starting on August 15. Liz has
scheduled a Meet and Greet after the Resident Meeting
on August 17th, please be there to help us welcome
her!
Also a couple of friendly reminders about the washing
machines in our communal laundry rooms.
They are (HE) high efficiency machines. This means that
they start their cycle, begin to fill with water and then
stop for a few minutes and then fill with more water.
This happens multiple times throughout their cycle.
They have sensing monitors that detect if there is still
soap in the water and will stop and start throughout
the rinse cycle until all detergent is removed.
FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL, PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE
WASHERS UNTIL THEY HAVE COMPLETED THEIR CYCLE.
We are having a lot of incidences of wet floors in the
laundry rooms where washers are being opened during
the wash. The cycle has completely finished when all
the lights go off. Please also never try to wash pillows.
They absorb a lot of water and become so heavy that
the machine doors will open.
Bill has put a trash can outside the main front entrance
for you convenience. The windows are scheduled to be
cleaned at the end of the summer.
The front patio pavers and some work on the building’s
foundation will be happening in September.
Walgreens will be coming out end of August/beginning
of September for our annual Flu Clinic.
Izzy Palm – Administrative Services Manager
The 2016 Summer Olympics will be
broadcast in the Activity Center every
night at 7pm
Here we are into August already!
This summer is flying by! Our food forum will be on the 3rd this month, so please come and enjoy a treat and join in on some good conversation with the dining team, it will be at 10:30 in the dining room.
Just a friendly reminder to sign up for meals, it is very helpful for us when we are preparing meals, and if you want an alternative please make note of that as well! Thank you!
August 4th is our company picnic, so we will be serving lunch at 11 am this day. (This allows our kitchen staff to make it to the picnic).
We will be closed for the evening meal, but we will be making box dinners for those who would like one and all of our daily diners!
Enjoy the rest of the Summer,
Chef Marge
