From large iconic organizations, like the Saint Louis Symphony, to smaller arts education programs, like the 7th Grade Poetry Foundation, A&E has helped to create a vibrant and diverse cultural community by raising and distributing more than $100 million in private funding since 1963. Whether its music or dance, theater or film, literary or visual, A&E keeps art happening. Our campaign supporting the Arts and Education Council of Greater St. Louis will make an impact on our community and our children. Tips and Tricks for a Successful Campaign

Saying Thank You: Thanking campaign contributors is the most important part of the campaign. A simple thank you email can do the trick, but going the extra step can really show appreciation.

• Thank-you breakfast • Individual cards • Ice cream social • Jeans day • Pizza party

• Early-out day • Late-start day • A&E also sends thank you notes and letters

to your contributors

Talk about the Benefits: By donating to the Arts and Education Council your staff will receive benefits, including:

• ARTS Card: special pricing to performances, concerts, and events

• Happenings magazine subscription

• Tax deduction (to the fullest extent allowable by law)

Kick-Off: Your kick-off sets the tone of your campaign. The kick-off should be informative, fun, and held at a time when the majority of the company can attend. Consider the following things when planning your kick-off:

• A&E Speaker • Grantee Presentation • Snacks

• Games • Art activity • Contests

Competitions: Consider holding a friendly competition between departments or buildings! With A&E’s online campaign tool, we can provide donation pages for each department/building in your organization.* Themes: A theme can add excitement and fun to your campaign. Consider starting a tradition with your Arts & Education Campaign that your coworkers will look forward to each year. Holding campaigns near holidays or sports events is an easy way to build a theme.

• Cardinals opening day • Mardi Gras • Cinco de Mayo • Luau • Halloween

• Circus/Big Tent • Super Bowl • College Tailgate • Art Fair • March Madness

Activities and Events: Keeping your staff engaged and excited about your campaign takes work. Holding a few activities or an event during your campaign can help. Some activities can be adjusted to work with any theme:

• A&E Grantee showcase • Painting contest • Poetry slam • Potluck

• Chili cook-off • Talent show • Carnival games • Bingo

*Specialized, targeted donation pages are provided for campaigns with goals of $1,000 or more
