Subject to weather we hope to complete each event in one day.

Consolations competitions will be arranged for the first match losers - Please

inform the referee if you do not wish to play. Hot and cold lunches and

snacks, and drinks from the licensed bar, will be available daily so

competitors are requested not to bring their own food..

TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS

1. The Tournament will be run in strict accordance with the ITF Rules of Tennis, the Rules of the LTA and

the LTA Tournament Regulations, including the LTA Code of Conduct (as each may be amended from

time to time).

2. Only those players who have reached the minimum age for the events on or before 31st December 2017

shall be eligible to compete.

3. Entry forms must be received by 29th May 2017, 8am, together with the correct entry fee. Cheques should

be made out to ’East Dorset Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club’. No entrant will be eligible to play unless the

correct fee is paid, £12 per player, per event.

4. Players who withdraw after the published withdrawal date for entries (2nd June 2017, 8am) will not be

entitled to any refund of their fees.

5. The draw will take place on 3rd June 2017 under the supervision of the Referee, Tournament Secretary and

Tournament Committee members. If players require their first match notification form by post an SAE is

6. Players must be ready to play at 9:30am daily unless otherwise arranged (latest 12 noon). They

must sign the attendance sheet on arrival and must not thereafter leave the grounds without the

Referee’s agreement.

7. Unless conditions make this impossible all main matches will be the best of two tiebreak sets and, if

tied 1-1, will be decided by a 10-point match tiebreak.

8. During the Tournament all players must wear recognised tennis clothing, with any advertising

matter or logos conforming to LTA rules.

9. All competitors play at their own risk and must take all necessary precautions to ensure their own

safety, being solely responsible for any loss, damage, personal injury etc. suffered by them or caused

to other parties.

10. ITF-approved tennis balls will be used for the Tournament on the Club’s grass courts. In the event

of delays caused by bad weather, astro courts may be used.

11. The decision of the Referee on all matters of tennis law, the code of conduct and the scheduling of

matches will be final.

12. The Committee reserves the right to withdraw any event for which there is not a minimum entry of

8 pairs and to refuse any entry without stating a reason. Each event is limited to the first 24 pairs

entering.

13. No complaint can be considered by the Tournament Committee unless made in writing and given to

the Referee within 48 hours of the occurrence.

14. No application to appeal against any decision of the Tournament Committee can be considered by

the LTA unless made to the LTA within 10 days of the decision.

15. Subject to the rules and regulations of the LTA, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to

modify these conditions and the program of events in any way it considers appropriate and in all

cases its decision will be final.
