Don’t quit. Don’t give in. Spending time in God’s Word is a discipline and it requires effort, time management, and motivation to develop it into regular habit. It has been my experience that most people quit a Bible reading plan by the time they get to Leviticus. I pray that you will persevere and continue reading in our reading plan. As I mentioned last week, if you’ve hit a roadblock, dust yourself off and jump right back in. You can either pick up where you left off or you can skip ahead and catch up with us. I promise you will benefit greatly if you will continue to develop the discipline of spending time in God’s Word. If you are on track with us, we are working through Week 9 in the reading plan. This week’s readings will primarily focus on the construction and the consecration of the Tabernacle. You will see that God had very specific instructions on how the Tabernacle would be constructed and the various elements that would be involved in build-ing it. You will also see that God had very specific instructions for the priests, how they are to offer sacrifices to God, and how they may approach God and His presence. At the beginning of Leviticus 10, two of Aaron’s sons decided to offer incense to the Lord on their own terms, and it cost them their lives because they ignored God’s specific instructions. Without being legal-istic, it serves as a great reminder that we can’t approach God with flippant attitudes and choose to do things on our own terms. God has given us commands and boundaries, and He expects us to be obedient. He loves us despite the mistakes we make, and He willingly offers us forgiveness when we ask, but we should approach God with a holy fear and reverence. This upcoming Sunday, I’ll be back on track in the Week 9 readings. In the morning service, we’ll study one of my favorite passages in Exodus, as Moses asks to see God’s glory. In the evening service, we’ll discuss the Tabernacle. If you’re interested in learning more about the Tabernacle, Greg Owens is leading a Bible study on the Tabernacle on Tuesday nights. Call the church office if you’d like more information on that class. I hope you’ll make plans to join us this Sunday. Keep going in the reading plan and have a blessed week! In Christ, Jason

A Message from Carter’s Corner This week in the life of our youth, we will conclude our study on Wednesday night on “5 Ways We Can Grow Our Youth Group Closer to Christ.” Throughout this study we have looked at discipleship, scholarship, fellowship, and worship. We have examined each of these four and learned about their true meanings and how we can grow our youth group closer to Christ by practicing these in their true meaning each day. Wednesday night we will conclude this study by talking about stewardship. We will learn how to be a good steward, not only with our character, but also with our time, our money, and our efforts. We ask that you join with us in prayer for our upcoming mission trip to Seattle, WA. We are currently praying for the church that we will be working with there, called Connections Church. Also, please pray for the leaders of this church that God will fill them with a sense of guidance, encouragement, and peace about organizing and partnering with us for this upcoming trip. And finally, we ask that you pray for our students. Our students need your prayers daily, they face new challenges and obstacles every day. Thank you for all of your love and support for our youth daily! ▪Act Justly ▪Love Mercy ▪Walk Humbly
