ATB – Head of Indigenous Financial Services 2

The Organization At ATB Financial, we put people first. We've been doing it for more than 80 years. In that time, we've grown and changed from one small Treasury Branch to become the largest Alberta-based financial institution, with assets of more than $55.8 billion. Along the way, we’ve transformed people’s understanding of what banking can–and should–make possible. And we’re just getting started, www.atb.com. Today, more than 5,000 team members serve over 777,000 customers in 245 Alberta communities. Just like our clients, we're Albertans and we work beside them in their communities through a network of more than 300 locations across Alberta. We’re invested in their success because it's our success too. We're proud of what we do and how we do it. And we're especially proud of the people who help us do it. In 2020, ATB was recognized by Great Place to Work® Canada as being the #1 place to work in Canada, as well as Best Workplaces for Inclusion and Best Workplaces for Women. Our commitments to Indigenous peoples are evolving and growing. There is much work to be done on our path forward to Truth and Reconciliation, but the organization has strong internal support for this work. Some initiatives to date include:

• Promoting Indigenous cultural awareness and recognition

• Indigenous Team Member Network (Employee resource group)

• Increasing representation of Indigenous team members

• Advancing our partnership with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) and working toward attaining our Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Gold certification

• Launching a comprehensive banking strategy to better support Indigenous communities • A comprehensive economic assessment of Alberta’s Indigenous economy in partnership with MNP

Indigenous Portfolio Strategies The Business engagement stream is one of four focus areas of an enterprise-wide strategy and is imperative to ATB’s market growth. The Indigenous Financial Services strategy includes clear objectives and measures of success. In addition, market research and community engagement contributed to a robust action plan required in Fiscal Year 2021-22 to ensure market capabilities that will enable growth. The new leader for this portfolio will have the autonomy to influence and adapt the strategic development plan per their expertise while being responsible for overseeing and empowering the team through successful implementation. At ATB, we work in a connected network and this leader will have the responsibility to coordinate and align the many enterprise champions throughout the organization that will work in support of the collective commitment to reconciliation. The emerging business focuses are:

• Enhance a holistic, integrated value proposition for Indigenous communities, businesses and citizens

• Establish relevant financial services unique to Indigenous client needs

• Develop capital optionality for Indigenous communities that enables economic reconciliation and growth
