• The ability to organize all of your materials is imperative to your success. The following pages will provide you with some good information to keep you organized.
Organizational Tips
• The first thing you need to do is keep your locker clean. You should keep your locker free of extra clothing and other things that may clutter it. This will provide you with a good location to put your school materials.

• The first step is to create a good mood for to study in.
• Find an appropriate time and location for you to study free of outside noise or distractions.

• The second step is to mark any information you do not understand.
• This gives you the ability to go back and study any areas you struggled with.
• Keep the study topics small so you do not overwhelm yourself with too much material.

Recall
• The third step in the process is to recall the information you have just studied by writing the information in your own words.
• This allows you to demonstrate your understanding of the information without just spitting back what you read.
• You have a much better chance of learning the material if you can put the information in your own words.

• It is important to let the information settle, and then go back and quiz yourself.
• This step gives you the opportunity to see if you have actually learned the material after some time has passed.

• The fifth step is to expand your knowledge base by expanding what you have learned by asking yourself probing questions.– If I could speak to the author, what questions would I ask? – How could I apply this material to what I am interested in? – How could I make this information interesting and
understandable to my friends?
