ENROLLMENT DOCUMENTS

For offline students:

1. ID (passport of a foreign citizen) + notarized

translation into Russian;

2. Diploma with transcripts (copy) + notarized translation

into Russian;

3. VMI policy (you can choose from the ones presented

on the site https://www.hse.ru/medical/ins)

4. Certificate of absence of HIV

5. Health certificate

6. Photo size 3*4

7. 2 PCR tests before and after arrival

For online students (in personal account):

1. ID (passport of a foreign

citizen) + notarized

VISA PROCESS

1. November – enrollment process (signing the contract and payment). Until you pay for the

tuition, we cannot enroll you in the program and start visa process.

2. December - January – Interior Ministry is preparing your visa invitation. This process may take

around a month and the university cannot speed it up.

3. End of January – you receive your visa and come to Russia. The approximate time of arrival is

the last week of January – first week of February. If there are some delays in the visa process,

you can start the course online.

TIME-TABLE AND ON LINE SCHEDULING SYSTEM

You can find your timetable:

Via HSE mobile app (available for iOs, Android, or

WindowsPhone) or on the website (choose Schedule-

Student-your name).

A class usually lasts two academic hours (1 hour 20

minutes in total). The starting times of each class are

fixed.

On-line classes will be held via Zoom according to the

schedule.

It is not allowed to change groups without Prep Year study office permission.

KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT

Regularity: routine assessment, intermediate assessment, and the final assessment.

Forms of knowledge assessment: tests and exams.

Exam Schedule: formed one week before the exams start and published on the Preparatory Year web page.

Please note that skipping classes (including online classes) affects your final grade.

TEST OF RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

At the Center of HSE International Preparatory Programmes, you can pass a certified exam in Russian as

a foreign language (TRKI, levels A1-C2).

This exam can be taken instead of Russian language entrance exam, if you change the direction of studying.

LIVING ACCOMMODATIONS

1. HSE Student Housing Office https://www.hse.ru/en/sho/#ppo Students can get housing advice; assistance in considering housing options; accommodation on special conditions available only for HSE students. You can only apply for HSE Housing office assistance after you finish your enrollment process.

2. Finding living accommodations yourself. Good places to start are: booking.com.ru, thelocals.ru, www.russian.hostelworld.com. Your landlord will have to make you a registration in Moscow! Staying in a place with no registration is illegal and may result in your deportation from the country.

3. Online studies from you country. Learning Russian from the comfort of your home has its own advantages - we will provide all training materials and instructions. Our Russian language instructors are highly professional and have experience in online education.
