Telecommunications and its history

Telecommunication is the transmission of information, over significant distances, to communicate. In earlier times, telecommunications involved the use of visual signals, such as beacons, smoke signals, semaphore telegraphs, signal flags, and optical heliographs, or audio messages via coded drumbeats, lung-blown horns, or sent by loud whistles, for example. In the modern age of electricity and electronics, telecommunications now also includes the use of electrical devices such as telegraphs, telephones, and teletypes, the use of radio and microwave

communications, as well as fiber optics and their associated electronics, plus the use of the orbiting satellites and the Internet.

What is the internet?

The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide.

What service does it provide?

It provides google, Bing, Mozilla, Google earth, etc.

What is web 2.0?

The term Web 2.0 is associated with web applications that facilitate participatory information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design, and collaboration on the World Wide Web. A Web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators (presumes) of user-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites.

What is a bandwidth?

Bandwidth is the difference between the upper and lower frequencies in a contiguous set of frequencies. It is typically measured in hertz, and may sometimes refer to pass band bandwidth, sometimes to baseband bandwidth, depending on context.

What is the importance of meteorology?Meteorology is important because we are learning about our atmosphere, the weather, and the things that shape our world. It helps us learn more about how to predict natural disasters and prevent more destruction.
