Gopalan School of Architecture and Planning
At GSAP, training is across multiple disciplines and we facilitate the students
through more experiential learning. The staff endeavours to inculcate a passion
for architecture and planning as one would for any form of art to excel in it. With
the intent of creating professionals who are leaders in their domains, GSAP
blends modernity, functionality, aesthetics, and tradition.
GSAP is recognised by the Government of Karnataka and is approved by
Council of Architecture. We are affiliated to and have adopted the Visvesvaraya
Technological University (VTU) syllabus.
To accentuate the learning, several workshops, seminars, and FDPs are
organized. In addition, there is a strong connection and involvement with the
construction industry due to the background of the founding company.
With industry experienced senior faculty, the students get hands-on training and
in-depth knowledge of practical issues that will confront them. The easy
interaction between the faculty and the students makes for easy flow of
information.

At Gopalan School of Planning and Architecture form, design, relevance and
sustain ability is of prime design focus. In order to aid and motivate students,
workshops, seminars, conventions are routinely organised and attended.
Further, students are encouraged to participate in diverse events to broaden

9. Band team for NASA competitions: GSAP established a new innovation
Workshops / Seminars
ANDC : Gopalan School of Architecture participated in annual NASA design competition held by NASA (National
Association of Students of Architecture) which has membership of more than 10000 students of architecture. The
competition was to convent an abandoned open space for an alternative public use.
This was designed to provide shelter and leisure seating space for hospital commuters. This design was aimed at using
low cost, recycled materials for the building of outdoor furniture. Our college was one of three colleges that
participated in the event from architecture schools in Bangalore and executed by students with the budget of 10,000/-
Gopalan School of Architecture and Planning students with a team of 8 students headed by Narendra P Reddy and
Jenisha r shah took up this challenging space to be transformed into public utility and landscaped garden.
GSAP was shortlisted as one of the 100 entries from a total of 380 entries. GSAP will now involve in community activity
for appropriate intervention of design in public environment. This space was in C.V. Raman General Hospital located in
Indira Nagar, Bangalore. This project was mooted by the Dean GSAP Prof. K.V. Krishna Murthy who motivated and
guided them ably, supported by Principal Dr. S. Sathish.
Achievements
Three plywood modules of cubes and plates size 100X100X100 mm and 100X100X10 mm have been fabricated
for the project. It has been envisaged to experiment with different proportions of aggregates, Alkaline Solution
(NaOH and Na2SiO3), GGBS and Alcofine, to arrive at suitable mix design of variable strength for different
application.

GEO - POLYMER PROJECTS : A Project on the use of Geo- Polymer as a replacement for conventional concrete
to be used as both structural and non structural application in building industry has been initiated at GSAP. All the raw
materials required like GGBS and Alcofine were procured and Geo polymer chemicals like Sodium Silicate and Sodium

Admission
Candidates who have passed 10+3 Diploma with subject of Mathematics,
duly recognized by Central/State Governments as equivalent to 10+2 level,
with minimum 50% aggregate marks are also eligible for admission to B. Arch
Candidates need to have passed an examination at the end of the 10+2
scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination.
Applicant must have passed 10+2 Mathematics and English as compulsory
subjects or 03 years diploma after 10 years of schooling with mathematics
and English as compulsory subjects.
A candidate should have passed NATA Entrance Examination conducted by
Council of Architecture
or
JEE-Paper2 (Architecture) which are madatory for admission B.Arch degree
course.

The drawing board, “T” square, culture is slowly getting sidelined and we are in the age too much
dependency on the electronic era however we at GSAP are balancing between old methodology
and the latest technologies.
With industry experienced senior faculty, the students get hands-on training and in-depth

While students at Gopalan Architecture college immerse themselves in academics, the college
has a lot in store for them outside the classroom. Student life includes participation in sports,
recreational & co-curricular and cultural activities.
Bachelor of Architecture is a five-year degree course affiliated to V TU & Approved by C.O.A
- New Delhi & recognised by G.O.K
GSAP aims to promote, motivate and encourage the young brains to achieve and translate
their knowledge in the profession of Architecture with special focus on the practical aspects
of facing the dynamic profession.

Estralis, the annual cultural festival of GSAP, organised and hosted by the
students of GSAP and GCEM( Gopalan College of Engineering and
Management) is a fiesta of song, dance, music, art, and other fun activities. The
management encourages students to take initiative, get creative and network
with multiple colleges in and around Bangalore.

Since its inception, GSAP has worked together, with students and faculty alike, to inculcate the spirit of learning through a broad
