OUR JURY Our jury has the honor of evaluating every artist applica-tion to determine our roster of participating artists. They each bring a unique point-of-view from the arts world, supported by years of knowledge and experience. During the festival, jurists will visit each booth to determine the 16 category winners, as well as award one artist the coveted “Best in Show” prize.

HILARY-MORGAN WATT is the Digital Engagement Manager for the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. With thirteen years of experience in museums and galleries, she has enjoyed working in communications, exhibition development, collections, and

visitor services. Ms. Watt has led digital strategy workshops across the Smithsonian, taught at The George Washington University, lectured at the State Department and Georgetown University, and completed her Masters in Museum Studies from The George Washington University.

TIM TATE is a Washington, DC native, and has worked with glass as a sculptural medium for the past 25 years. Co-Founder of the Washington Glass School, Tim’s work is in the permanent collections of a number of museums, including the Smithsonian’s American Art

Museum and the Mint Museum. He won the 2010 Virginia Groot Foundation award for sculpture, second place in the 2017 London Contemporary Art Prize, and is a 2018 James Renwick Alliance Distinguished Artist, among many other honors.

MICHELE MANATT was elected president of the James Renwick Alliance (JRA) in October 2018. The JRA is a leading organization fostering education, connoisseurship and public appreciation of American craft art. The JRA conducts artist workshops, recognizes artistic

excellence with awards, and provides financial support to museums and non-profit institutions including the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Ms. Manatt is a member of the SAAM Director’s Circle along with her husband.

Your art collection has to start somewhere! We know that collecting art can be daunting — so many styles and disciplines at every price point. Introducing “stARTer gallery” — a separate cluster of tents located on Bethesda Lane, featuring local and emerging artists showcasing their works to first-time and novice art collectors. To assist with the process, student art curators are on-hand to ensure your connections with the artists are personal and meaningful.

GETtinG HEre IS EASY!METROThe show is two blocks from the Bethesda Metro Station (Red Line). At the top of the escalator, turn left through the bus terminal to Woodmont Avenue. Turn left on Woodmont and walk into the festival.

DRIVINGThe public garage in the middle of the festival is accessible from Bethesda Avenue via Arlington Road, and other lots near the event are also open. Please do not park in private lots, or the lots of other businesses.

BIKINGThe Capital Crescent Trail crosses the show at the corner of Woodmont Avenue and Bethesda Avenue. There is plenty of bike parking throughout the show. Please do not block sidewalks or walkways.

Overnight, Bethesda Row’s Shopping and Entertainment District will transform into an outdoor art gallery, featuring more than 200 juried fine arts and crafts from artists around the nation. “Art Fair Sourcebook” and “Sunshine Artists” have recognized the event as one the most important in the country, and over 45,000 attendees agree annually! Explore the artists, visit the local retailers, and follow us on social media.

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR VISIT1EASY ACCESS: The festival takes place on the single square

block of Bethesda Row, located in Bethesda, Maryland (Woodmont, Ave., Bethesda Ave., Bethesda Ln., and Elm

St.). The streets are closed to traffic, making walking easy. Garage parking is available, and Metro is only two blocks away.
