Our Tuesday morning book group enjoyed discussing Acts of the Apostles. The Bible is such a rich source of food for thought, we decided to continue with more of the New Testament. We are going to start at the beginning of the New Testament with the Gospel of St. Matthew. Please consider joining us! It is just an hour a week, but it gives us such a warm feeling of community to share our faith with others. Come! Tuesdays, starting August 7, from 9 - 10. Pastor’s Corner "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me

will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst." This week we continue to hear John 6 which is known as the "Bread of Life" discourse. Jesus is not speaking about physical hunger and thirst. He wants to fill the hungers of our heart. This Gospel reminds us of the intimate moment we receive Holy Communion. If we open our hearts to Him when we receive communion, Jesus satiates our hungers. He fulfills our desires. He gives us the strength we need to persevere in life. This is the great mystery we celebrate every Sunday whether we are in a beautiful Church or a small basement chapel � However, this time next week, we should be celebrating mass in our newly cleaned and painted Church. The floors were refinished and should be drying this weekend. On Monday, the painters will clean up. Hopefully, we will be installing a new carpet at the end of this month or early September. I am grateful for your continued financial support and prayers. Here are some more pictures:

Notas del Pastor "Yo soy el pan de la vida; el que a mí viene,

nunca tendrá hambre, y el que cree en mí nunca tendrá sed". Esta semana seguimos escuchando a Juan 6, que se conoce como el discurso del "Pan de vida". Jesús no está hablando de hambre físico y sed. Él quiere llenar las hambres de nuestro corazón. Este Evangelio nos recuerda el momento íntimo en que recibimos la Sagrada Comunión. Si abrimos nuestros corazones a Él cuando recibimos la comunión, Jesús sacia nuestras hambres. Él cumple nuestros deseos. Él nos da la fuerza que necesitamos para perseverar en la vida. Este es el gran misterio que celebramos todos los domingos ya sea que estemos en una hermosa iglesia o en una pequeña capilla en el sótano � Sin embargo, esta vez la próxima semana, deberíamos celebrar la misa en nuestra Iglesia recién limpia y pintada. Los pisos fueron reacabados y deberían estar secando este fin de semana. El lunes, los pintores lo limpiarán. Con suerte, instalaremos una nueva alfombra a fines de este mes o principios de septiembre. Estoy agradecido por su continuo apoyo financiero y oraciones. Special Religious Event Opportunity St. Anthony's Monday Evening Mass/Novenas Every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in St. Anthony's Church

The evening includes Mass followed by the Novenas of the Miraculous Medal, St. Anthony, and St. Jude,

during Eucharistic Adoration. It lasts about 1:15 minutes.

Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic church will hold their 41st Annual Lebanese Heritage Days celebration on Saturday, August 4th from 5:00 P.M. to Midnight and on Sunday August 5th, from 11 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. There will be a variety of Middle Eastern foods, dance troupes and entertainment. Admission is free. Lebanese Heritage days will be held rain or shine.

St. Rocco’s Church St. Rocco’s Church, Martins Creek will celebrate their annual Festival: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, August 9, 10 & 11 from 6 -10:30PM each night on the church grounds. Join us for our traditional Porketta, Crispelli and other food specialties. Games, rides, and live entertainment will be featured nightly.
