Our Yearbook is Dedicated toMr. Stephen Knoblock

Mr. Stephen Knoblock has been a part of the Our Lady of Mount CarmelParish family for over twenty years.

During his time with Mount Carmel, he has dedicated countless hours to thechurch and school, creating a wonderful music program and sharing his

talents with all the students and parishioners.

Since we started at Mount Carmel he has been there teaching andencouraging us to embrace music; whether in music class, school plays or

pageants, glee club, Birthday Masses, or at Church on Saturday and Sunday.

Without Mr. Knoblock, Mass on Sunday would not be half as beautiful as hismusic makes it. School plays and pageants would not turn out as wonderfully

as they do.

The Class of 2016 would like to thank you for all your effort and devotion, aday does not go by that you are unnoticed or unappreciated.

We will miss you tremendously.

Sincerely,The Class Of 2016

Dear Graduates,

“Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours: yours are theeyes through which to look at Christ’s compassion to the world, yours are the feet with whichhe is to go about doing good, and yours are the hands with which he is to bless us now.”

~ St. Teresa of Avila

You are here today because of the great love and sacrifices of your parents. You are here todaybecause of your teachers’ dedication to sharing knowledge and values with you. Where you willgo in the future will be because of your choices, your efforts, your ability to absorb the caring, knowledge and principals taught to you by your parents and teachers.

Choose to participate actively in your own life. Every day you’ll be faced with choices; betweenreality and fantasy, between the path of least resistance and a path fraught with obstacles. Inchoosing, keep in mind that we don’t learn patience and courage on the path of least resistance. Our greatest lessons are learned through adversity.

The world you are entering has much that is wrong with it, but much that is right as well. Youare in it - be part of it. Make your world and the people who touch it happier, more vibrant, amore caring, sharing space. Your own aliveness comes from involvement with others. To LIVEin the world you need to reach out, to contribute your eyes to see, your ears to hear by sharingwillingly your gifts and talents and by nurturing their growth. Each day is an opportunity togrow and learn and reaffirm your uniqueness in a world that needs you very much.

As you leave Our Lady of Mt. Carmel you do not go alone - our love, prayers and best wishes gowith you and most importantly take with you the knowledge that you are never alone. God iswith you always, watching over you, guiding you, awaiting anxiously your petition for guidance. The more you take to heart this truth, the stronger you will believe it.

My congratulations to all of you for all that you have become. Look forward to all of yourtomorrows with hope and strength, knowing you will, if you seek God’s help to make all the rightdecisions.

In conclusion - in this Year of Mercy, I pray that our merciful and compassionate Lord willbestow on you and your families His choicest blessings.

So farewell - never goodbye - because you will always be in my heart.

God bless you.Lovingly,

Sr. M. Stephen, RDC

Dear Graduating Class,

You, you, you, you, you, you, you….

Although I have much still to learn in life, one thing I have learned and try to livedaily (many times unsuccessfully) is that focusing on yourself will never lead to thegreatest success, fulfillment, and ultimately happiness. Society and the hoopla aroundgraduation encourages us to look inward, but this sort of belly button gazing will neverlead us to the heights that life has in store for us.

So, instead of focusing on what will come next for “you”, focus on how you will makelife better for someone else. Find a way to start serving others wherever you are. Insteadof grasping for your own dreams, focus on how you can help others achieve their dreams. No matter what path you choose, the gifts you have been given are meant to be shared, and we as a society need you at your best to be at our best. Although the message ofgraduation can be very individualistic, the simple truth is that we are all in this lifetogether. We depend on each other and we are depending on you.

There’s one more thing. While we look to the past for guidance, and dream about thefuture, we live in the present. Wherever you are on that road to fame and fortune, alwaysremember to be thankful for what you have. Treat every day as a gift, a blessing. TheRoman statesman Cicero once said “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but aparent of all the others.” So if you are truly grateful for what you have in life, you’ll be abetter son or daughter, sibling or friend. You’ll always be there for those who have beenthere for you. You’ll have a stronger faith. And you’ll have the patience to make itthrough some of life’s most trying times—you know, like the advisory schedule.

So remember to count your blessings and happiness will surely come your way. If Imay paraphrase Shakespeare, true happiness is not about the destination, it’s about thejourney.

Congratulations to all of “you!” What will “you” do now?

Go and make a difference for all of “us!”

Sincerely,

Anne C. Donnellan

Isabella Gray

Friendship is an amazing thing, people you can trust and who trust you. Friends are on your side ingood and bad times, always there when you need them. I think that everyone needs frriends in life. Friends are good. Friends are nice. Friends are necessary to be happy.

La amistad es una cosa increíble, gente que puedes confiar y que confían en ti. Amigos que están en tulado en las buenas y las malos, siempre están ahí cuando los necesitas. Creo que todo el mundo necisitaamigos para ser Feliz.

Gabriel Villatoro Mendoza

Sometimes when I look upon graduation I am sad that it is done. But then I reflect on what I’ve accomplished and what I have become.

I have learned and grown and made memories that will last me an infinity, and although it’s a final goodbye, Mount Carmel has taught me to work

to the best of my ability.Kylie Feliciano

Once a friend is made, an eternal bond is made. When that bond is made, life becomes easy.

You have them by you during hardships.

A friend is someone we turn to,when our spirits need a lift.

A friend is someone we treasure, for our friendship is a gift.

A friend is someone who fills our lives, with beauty, joy and grace.

And make the world we live in,a better and happier place.

You will be missed but not forgotten. We had great times Class of 2016.

Even though we’re going different ways,We will always share a special bond.

Thomas Palackal

True friends come few and far between, and true friends are the ones

who aren’t mean. True friends are people who you can trust with

anything and are the ones who comfort you and make you laugh when

you’re feeling down. True friends are the ones who don’t boast, and they

are the ones I care about the most.

Christopher Gilberti

The future is an unpredictable ride. A ride that never ends. A ride that just started.Life has many difficulties. Health, labor, death

Life has many joys. Friends, family, new beginnings. You will feel many emotions. Happiness, sadness, anger

Pass on these experiences. Use these experiences. Live off these experiences.Remember these experiences.

Remember When...I always took forever to put my stuff away. One day, Mrs. Moliterno left with the classwhile I was still getting my lunch. Luckily I was found waiting in the parking lot by Mrs. P.

Last year during our trip to Screamin ‘ Parties I saw a huge slide and raced to the top ofit. Sliding down, I felt so happy - jumping up & down at the bottom! Ms. D. popped mybubble when she pointed out that my pants were on the floor. - Thomas

In Pre-K we were playing inside and I accidently hit one of my friends. Mrs.Moliterno asked if I did it on purpose, or if it was an accident. I said “on purpose”because I didn’t know what that meant. My punishment was sitting away from theclass at storytime.

During our 7th grade end of year party we had a lip-sync battle. Thomas did Lips are Moving. When he got to “IN YOUR FACE” he scared me so badly I fell backwards out ofthe chair.

- Christopher

I was afraid of Sheena - she got mad that I was assigned her partner from the previous year.In third grade when we played too intensly with the fake money, Mrs. Penn took it awayfrom us. We replaced it with blocks.

All the times Isabella randomly broke into song.- Kylie

In 2nd grade, Justin flung jello onto the cafeteria ceiling. In 4th grade, we built lego towns, trying to figure out who ruled each section.

In 7th grade, we competed in lip-sync battles. - Sheena

The Halloween ring pop face. When Thomas got his hand stuck in the chair.

Having the chance to sing at MSG. - Jibby

Aidan tried to shoot milk out of his nose. He was caught by Mr. McCaffery and endedup in trouble, trying to blame the class. He later told his dad he had done it by accident.

- Justin

In 6th grade we thought the downstairs girls’ bathroom washaunted because the water in the sink would start running, even when no one was using it. We even kept a notebook that proved the bathroom was haunted.

In 7th grade we took over the small bounce house at Screamin’ Parties. When 6th graderstried to join us we screamed at them to get out. - Darlene

Remember When...

I remember when I first came to OLMC and going to my first Back to School BBQat DeLuca Park.

And then there was the time Thomas got his hand stuck in the chair. - Michael

Our class went to Club Getaway. We had a tour, and then ate lunch while listening to a DJ -he invited us all to dance. Ethan started dancing and soon the whole class joined in.

- Eisaiah

I remember meeting Jibby. We started talking about soccer and discovered that we like the sameteam and player. - Gabriel

Justina was locked in a closet by Isabella and Sheena. We changed Mr. McCaffery’s computer screen saver to a deviled squirrel.

That really intense lip-sync battle in 7th grade.Isabella breaking the silence by singing.

OLMC Singing at MSG. - Lauren

The lip-sync battle in 7th grade, celebrating my 13th birthday with the girls at my house, the walkathon, our trip to MSG to sing “God Bless America” and watch a basketball game, our day at Club Getaway. - Olivia

I remember first entering the school in Pre-K. In 6th grade I dissected a squid at theMaritime Aquarium, then in 7th grade we had a fish tank. - Aidan

I hid under Mr. McCaffery’s desk for five minutes while he was grading papers. The lip-sync battles: Chris falling off his chair; Justina face planting afterI accidently tripped her.

Turning everything into a song “Reaching Back.”Changing Mr. McCaffery’s computer wallpaper to a chipmunk, a llama, awatermelon, and a guy with his head stuck.

I broke the candle on the Advent wreath in the office while trying to straighten it.Writing a note in the 3rd grade.
