Message of this Month Dear brothers and sisters, I would like to ask each one of you that as you read this message you think about your history, because I have discovered that majority of people. at one time or another, have had found themselves in difficult times. Maybe you are currently in one. Maybe have experienced they joy of having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Although, you may have lost track of what God may want for your life because of those hard moments in your life. We all can fall in that pattern. There are many voices in our culture that compete with God's voice. We start to believe that we need more in order to be happy. More power. More sex. More food. More trips. More things. As these voices get louder we ignore the voice of our spirit that is yelling "No!" We don't need more things; God is the only thing we need more of. Like Jesus said: "Why would a man want to gain the world, if he will loose his soul?" This could occur from one moment to another or gradually. If we are not cautious, we can become prey of the tantrums of the world. It is very difficult not to fall into temptation if our relationship with God is weak. We have to be very careful so that this doesn't happen to us. As we look back into our life, we can see how east it is to detach from God. Maybe you have done so without realizing it. Let us focus our attention in the details of our every day life and how we can be successful in what we do, whether it is building a family, directing a business, or in our jobs. We can suffer in life and get dis-tracted, and before we know it, we would have lost the time we would habitually give to God and read his Word. We begin to do things at our own will, and dedicate our own goals and decisions based on our own interests. Even if we attend to church and we fake a relationship with God, but in a short time He becomes something left behind. Maybe your relationship with Christ is so narrow that you start to be-lieve that the sinful invitations the world gives you aren't at all harmful. Well, be careful because when this happens we leave our guard down and the world can take over your life. The Bible warns us that we should not be fooled to think that we can't be tricked into temptation and sin. We are in a time in which society runs from one place to another, trying to get all their Christmas shopping done, things that many times are very far from our economic reach and yet we sacrifice ourselves for having them thinking that they are the best and only way to show their love. Our Lord Jesus Christ warns that we should not be in want of material things since there is only one thing that is important and necessary. (Luke 10:42). I hope that the preparations to receive Our Savior is different for you this year; without anything that takes away the Spirit of peace. A time with more meditation and reflect on our relationship with God, it is important to look at the time in our life and never forget that if we have Christ in our hearts at all time, we will be strong and will have the wis-dom it takes to make conscious decisions in life. "To you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord." (Luke 2:11). Blessings for 2018 Pastor Maria

Mensaje del Mes Queridos hermanos/as, quiero preguntar a cada persona que este leyendo este mensaje que piense en su historia, porque he descubierto que la ma-yoría de la gente, de una manera u otra y en algún momento, se encuentra en circunstancias muy difíciles. Tal vez e sienta harto, desgastado, frustra-do y sin armonía con Dios. Tal vez usted esté pasando por una lucha en su vida ahora mismo. Quizá también haya experimentado el gozo que provie-ne de tener una relación con Jesucristo. Entonces, a través de las ocupa-ciones de la vida y sintiéndose arrastrado en todas direcciones, ha perdido la orientación y se ha alejado del mejor plan de Dios para usted. A decir verdad, todos somos susceptibles a andar sin rumbo. Hay muchas voces en nuestra cultura que compiten con la voz de Dios para atraer nuestra atención. Comenzamos a creer que necesitamos más para ser feli-ces. Más poder. Más amor. Más sexo. Más comida. Más viajes. Más co-sas. Estas voces se hacen más y más fuertes y pronto ignoramos la voz de nuestro espíritu que clama No! No necesitamos más cosas; solo necesita-mos más de Dios. Como dijo Jesús: “Porque de que le aprovechara al hombre ganar todo el mundo, si pierde su alma?” Puede suceder de repente o gradualmente. Si tenemos la guardia baja, podemos caer fácilmente presa de los caprichos del mundo. Es muy difícil no caer en la tentación si nuestra relación con Dios se debi-lita Tenemos que tener mucho cuidado ya que si eso sucede, caeremos muy fácilmente en los caprichos del mundo. Al mirar hacia atrás en nuestra vida, podemos ver cuán fácil es apartarse de Dios. Tal vez usted se ha apartado de una manera que no se ha dado cuenta. La vida es ajetreada y se imponen muchas exigencias a nuestro tiempo. Fijamos nuestra atención en los detalles de la vida diaria y en cómo llegar a ser exitosos en lo que hacemos ya sea criando una familia, dirigiendo un negocio o teniendo un empleo cualquiera. Podríamos sufrir contratiempos o distraernos, y antes de darnos cuenta, habremos perdido el habito de pasar tiempo con Dios regularmente y de leer su Palabra. Comenzamos a hacer cosas por nuestra cuenta, dedicándonos a nuestras propias metas y tomando decisiones basadas en nuestro interés propio. Aun así vamos a la iglesia y aparentamos tener una relación con Dios, pero al poco tiempo El comienza a parecer bastante distante. Tal vez su relación con Cristo es tan estrecha que creerá que el mundo y sus invitaciones al pecado, no tendrá un efecto dañino. Pues bien, mucho cuidado porque podemos confiarnos demasiado y bajar la guardia y el mundo puede llegar a controlar su vida. La Biblia nos advierte que no seamos ingenuos en creer que estamos por encima de caer en la tentación y el pecado. Estamos en una época en la que vemos a una sociedad corriendo de un lado para otro, tratando de hacer sus compras navideñas, cosas que mu-chas veces están muy lejos de su alcance económico pero que se sacrifi-can por obtenerlas creyendo que eso es lo más importante para demostrar nuestro amor. Nuestro Señor Jesucristo nos advierte que no estemos afanados por tantas cosas ya que una sola cosa es importante y necesaria. (Lucas 10:42) Espero que la preparación para recibir a Nuestro Salvador sea de una ma-nera diferente este año; sin estrés, sin preocupación por la economía, sin tristezas ni rencores, sin nada que le quite ese Espíritu de paz. De más tiempo a la meditación y vea como esta su relación con Dios, es importan-te revisar esa área de nuestra vida y no olvidar que si recibe a Cristo en su corazón, estará fuerte y tendrá sabiduría para tomar decisiones para su vida. Christmas Eve Noche Buena

Christmas Decorations Decoración Navideña

Our Savior's Posada Navidena On the 16th of December from 3pm-6pm, Our Savior's Lutheran Church will kick off the annual Christmas posadas with a congre-gational and community Posada Navidena. We will have authentic Mexican Pozole, fruit punch, piñata, and goodie bags. Most importantly, we will sing carols and remember the journey Joseph and Mary faced on the day our Lord was born. El 16 de Diciembre de 3pm-6pm, Nuestro Salvador empezara las posadas con una po-sada congregacional y comunitaria. Tendremos pozole, ponche, piñata, y agui-naldos. Y mas que nada, cantaremos villancicos y recordaremos la noche en que nuestro Señor nació.
