CANNEL COAL"The Sa/ety Burner'.'
Whether wood shingles or fire-resisting roofingcover your house, it is best to be particular aboutyour method in handling the open fireplace.
It is true that often, from your blazing fire oflogs, great chips of burning wood will be carried upthe chimney by a strong draft-sometimes dying a
natural dea th as t hey shoot i nto t he air-a t othert imes playing a dangerous game of hide-and-seekwith your roofing material.
The use of Cannel coal prevents this hazardousspark-flying. The blaze which Cannel coal makes isstrong, and bright-but very clean-for there arenever any escaping sparks to fly up th e chimney. This is one reason why so many people are changingtheir log fires to Cannel coal-the saf.ety burner.
Then, too, it is cheaper, at $14.00 a ton.

Before you rush into expensive oil burning, consider the new, scientific way of burning buckwheat coal with a Kunkel Combustion System.
Not only do you get more heat, bu t youalso save about two-thirds your oil bill. Figure it yourself. Oil at 10 cents a gallon costsyou $18.70 for th e equivalent of a ton of 2240pounds of anthracite. Buckwheat coal costsyou $7.50 a ton. With the Kunkel Combustion System you will use no more buckwheat, ton for ton, than you have used of the largersize coal. Figure your saving.
Let us tell you more about the KunkelCombust ion Sys tem and where you can seeit in operation.
The Kunkel Combust ion Sys tem is not atrifling something that's "attached" t o you rfurnace. It is a complete automatic combustion system that burns buckwheat coal andaccurately controls and maintains th e desi red t empera tu re in your home, the rmostatically.

OF STANDARD DESIGN only in its simplest forms, it varies
from a small board with a handful of telephones to a great
complicated switchboard large enough to serve a city of fifty
thousand people.
I ts reach must be universal-across the office and across
the country.
Its flexibility must react to the peculiar and changing
requirements ofthe establishment employing it.
Its pitch must respond to every note of service struck by
the ten or ten thousand who use it.
Specialized equipment , plus, it is an example ofthe increM'
ing accomplishment of the telephone-to speed and facili..
