towards strengthening Education & Career Guidance (ECG) efforts at all levels and support all students in their areas of strength and talents. ENGAGING MINDS It is our hope that our students keep an inquisitive mind and learn something new every day. Learning is a frame of mind. Let us keep an open mind to new ideas and ways of doing things. Our world is exciting and dynamic – robotic suits multiply man’s natural strength and exoskeletons allow the disabled to regain mobility. To this end, our students must seek learning beyond school, to learning throughout life. The school’s Total Curriculum will encourage skills deepening and continual learning beyond the examinations. The CAMPS domains (Cognitive, Affective, Moral, Physical and Social) will receive equal focus as we seek to provide a holistic education in Huamin. Through this, we aim to grow the skills and confidence of every student, cultivate the interest and passion for learning in them and develop critical thinkers and self-directed learners. INSPIRING GROWTH Finally, we hope to inspire our students to go beyond learning for work, to learning for life. We seek to build character in our students and develop the disposition and confidence to live life with purpose and spirit, to be active contributors and concerned citizens. Through the Character and Citizenship Education (CCE), we encourage students to take ownership of causes in the community and put values into action. One example is the SG50 Giving to encourage the spirit of giving and involve our students in community causes from young. It is our sincere wish to work in greater partnership with parents and the community and see possibilities in every child; that every child can and wants to learn. Together, we can do everything possible to provide every child with rich and meaningful experiences and inspire every one of them to develop to his/her fullest potential. Let us continue to strengthen this meaningful partnership as we pursue a common vision and mission. Our school thrives on an open and trusting culture where we encourage and appreciate your feedback on school policies, teaching and learning programmes and administrative matters. All teachers will be sending out to parents via your child, introductory letters where the teachers’ contact

The Caring Teacher Awards 2016

Caring Teacher Awards (CTA) is jointly organised by the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore and ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, with support from the Ministry of Education, Singapore. First given out in 1996, it is aimed at acknowledging and rewarding local school teachers who, through their daily deeds and actions, exemplify the values of caring, sharing and concern for the academic, moral, social, emotional and mental well-being of their students.

There are two categories for the awards – they comprise the National Level and School Level nominations. School Level winners are picked by schools.

This award acknowledges and rewards our school teachers who, through their daily deeds and actions, exemplify the values of caring, sharing and concern for the academic, moral, social, emotional and mental well-being of their students.
