PRISM LIFESTYLE CENTRE JAY MATLOU The broad aim of the Prism Lifestyle Centre is to provide LGBT people an alternative safe space that: •Provides LGBT affirmative primary health care and psychosocial support services •Enables like-minded LGBT individuals to develop skill sets (around health, wellbeing and access to rights) through various themed group activities and workshops; •Enables like-minded LGBT individuals to congregate and build interpersonal connections participation and ownership of available •Encourages open participation and ownership of available and upcoming community-centred activities. The specific aim of the Prism Lifestyle Centre is to foster the following among LGBT people: A sense of involvement, connection and belonging; •Increased awareness of their own risk profiles and maladaptive coping strategies; •An increased sense of self-worth and greater appreciation for their own health and wellbeing; •Practical strategies to ensure and maintain optimum levels of health and wellbeing; •Transferring these gains to peers in their own social and sexual networks.

•Clinic (Primary healthcare services including VCT and STI diagnosis)

• Face to Face and Telephonic counseling

•Therapeutic Support groups (including the HIV support group)

GROUP BASED ACTIVITIES• Gay and Lesbian interest groups; Book Club; Study groups for professionals; Public Forums; Library and Resource Center ; Themed Workshops etc

•OUTside : A Saturday social programme where LGBT members can interact with peers around norms that are positive and sustainable for mind, body and spirit

PEER EDUCATION•We aim to use peer educators who will access social and sexual networks directly in hope to build a relationship with the network and organize activities to address Perceptions of Risk, Internalized homophobia; poor group norms and poor sense of community directly
