  • FlierDescription: This flier is an invitation to sign up for a Graduate Leadership Conference. The information was provided, as well as the old flier that has been distributed in the past. The purpose was to update the flier and make it unique and professional. I believe I accomplished this goal.Process: I used InDesign for the project. I started with the logo and tried to work outward from there. I wanted to make sure the design had a nice flow with the logo. To make sure that the company was present but not overbearing I put a large logo in the back and lowered the opacity to look similar to a watermark. Since the round shape of the O seemed dominant to me. I tried to make sure other things had similar rounded edges to make the design feel like a cohesive piece. I made this possible by simply using the corner preferences application within the program. I tried to use strong alignment through the design while keeping the message very formal.Message: The message of this flier is this program will help you get ahead and learn how to become a leader. The message is this program will be beneficial for graduating seniors.Audience: The audience is students, specifically graduating seniors.Top Thing Learned: I rely on feedback. It is a strong possibility that I rely on feedback too much. I am not confident in my abilities and need reassurance from others.Title Font Name & Category: Memphis Bold 48pt- Slab SerifSubtitles Memphis Medium 20pt and 14pt- Slab SerifCopy Font Name & Category: Memphis light 12pt, 10 pt and 11pt- Slab Serif

Also in Photoshop I used the screen function to make the fireworks all appear in one image. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the Adventureland Alumni Logo. I used paragraph styles for the headings and body copy. I created the layout using InDesign and used text wrap to make sure that the images did not have copy over themMessage: The message of this brochure is to The College Program is great.Audience: The Audience for this is College student that have an interest in Disney.Top Thing Learned: The thing I learned with this project was how beneficial and helpful it is to use paragraph styles.Title Font Name & Category: Adobe CasolaOldstyleCopy Font Name & Category: Gill Sans- Sans SerifWord Count of copy: 300

  • Web PageDescription: This is a website layout made using HTML and CSS.Process: With this project I used quite a few different programs. I started out with TextWrangler to write my HTML and CSS. Then I used photoshop find the colors from the background image that I resized to fit the layout better. I also used Adobe Illustrator to edit the anchors color scheme to match the colors of the background image. I feel like these colors go better with the nautical theme. I used CSS to create the design with drop shadows and padding tools.Message: The message I was trying to convey was that this is a young, fun photography company, but I played heavily to name recognition. I wanted to show that color is important and that the company is playful while being professional.Audience: My audience is people looking to hire a photographer that is fun and playful while being professional. This is mostly geared towards families and young adults.Top Thing Learned: I learned that I love CSS. I found the process easy to understand and I like the amount of control I had on the layout just from changing a few things in the CSS document. I also learned that sometimes guess and check is the best way to come up with the desired results. Sometimes I would think that something was going to look great but it didnt look great when I tried it.Color scheme and color hex(s): Split Complimentary Blue- 192978 Brick 1- f06523 Brick 2-b42506 Gold- fbb615Title Font Families & Category: Noteworthy -ScriptCopy Font Families & Category: Garmond OldstyleChanges made to the CSS: I changed the background to be an image. I changed all the font. I also added a drop shadow to create think outlines. I changed the colors multiple times to find the combination that would work the best. I also changed the hyperlink to say my blog instead of the entire hypertext. I also changed the color of the link and made it change colors when you hover on it.

  • Description: Create stationary with a letterhead and a business card for fake company.Process: For this project I used both Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. I created the anchor and worked every detail around that. I copied the image to create a Violet drop shadow effect. I also made sure things had clear lines and nothing was too symmetrical. I wanted the lines to come through clearly so I played to them heavily.Message: The message I was trying to convey was that this is a young, fun photography company, but I played heavily to name recognition. I wanted to show that color is important and that the company is playful while being professional.Audience: My audience is people looking to hire a photographer that is fun and playful while being professional. This is mostly geared towards families and young adults.Top Thing Learned: Small changes make a huge difference. After I received critiques on a draft I made many small changes. I learned flexibility. I was attached to my design but changed it in many ways based on feedback I received from a big group. I feel like this is important to learn for future employment.Color scheme and color names: Big Split Complimentary. • MontageDescription: This is an inspirational image.Process: For this project I found two images that to me had an obvious merging point. This merging point was the horizon. I resized the images so they lined up nicely at the horizon, cropping out people that were in the sunset photo. I used a mask on each layer to merge the two pictures together. I used the gradient tool to make the photos merge flawlessly in the water and waves. I decided to use white text for it to stand out and I aligned the text with the bottom of the sun and the left side of the walkway. I changed the opacity of the text to 61% so make it blend and not be harsh against the background. I used gaussian blur on the sunset photo.Message: The message I tried to convey was to get off the couch because amazing things are out there for us to see.Audience: My audience was women that are debating on whether to start a new adventure.

    Top Thing Learned: The benefit of the gradient tool. At first I tried to do a gradual blend freehand without the use of a gradient. The gradient made my goal so much easier to obtain.

    Filter / Colorization used: I used the gaussian blur filter on the sunset. I also changed the opacity of the text to 61%.Color scheme and color names: Split complimentary Red/Lime/TealTitle Font Name & Category: Chaparral Pro Light Italic- Slab Serif

  • LogosDescription: This project was to create three different logos for a company.Process: For this project, I used adobe Illustrator. I started playing with the idea of what was unique to the photographers name. The Nautical theme seemed to stand out immediately. I have the idea to use the A of the photographers first name as a sail for a sailboat. The blue seemed to be an obvious choice. I was able to use the pen tool to make a curved additional sail.I also was able to make the anchor by adding small shapes together. I was able to align the text with a path.For the Third logo I tried a simple approach of using a camera with simple text over it.Message: The message I was trying to convey was that this is a photography company, but I played heavily to name recognition. The name of the photographer is Amber Harbour, so I played with the nautical theme.Audience: My audience is people looking to hire a photographer that is fun and playful.Top Thing Learned: I learned how to trace designs with the pen tool.Three Color Scheme and Color Names: Monochromatic BlueSplit Complementary- Teal, orange, redComplementary- Green, RedThree sets of Title / Body Font Names & Categories:Noteworthy- scriptNoteworthy & Garmond- script & oldstylePoster Bodoni & Sinhala Samgam- Modern & Sans SerifVotes on favorite logo:Top Logo = __5_; Middle Logo = _4__; Bottom Logo = __1_;

  • PhotodesignDescription: This project was done entirely through photoshop. It was done with an original picture that I took and the design was added.Process: This was done with photoshop using a picture I took. I picked out a color scheme and took a picture that went along with that. Once I had the color scheme picked out, I decided to use round design details to go along with the rounded edges of the petals. I used the square and circle tools to make the rounded edges I have incorporated. I also changed the opacity of the rectangle at the bottom so the design could be seen. With the simplify step, I took away dots that made the design look cluttered.Message: The message I tried to have come across was that, even through tough times things get better.Audience: My audience was teenage and young adult women.Top Thing Learned: I learned from this project my love for layers! I adore the way I can use Photoshop to manipulate pictures. I like that we learned to edit but not over edit.Color scheme and color names: Tetradic- Indigo, Violet, Lime, GoldTitle Font Name & Category: NuevaMM- OldstyleCopy Font Name & Category: NuevaMM- Oldstyle

  • Event AdDescription: This project is an event flier made entirely in Microsoft Word. The objective of the project was to utilize skills in Microsoft Word to promote a charity event.Process: This program was made in Microsoft Word. I started with the image and message and worked outward. I organized the information in two basic groups of main point and details. I kept the design minimal in hopes of grabbing attention but not overwhelming the audience.Message: The message of this flier is to try to convince people of the Rexburg area to come out and participate in the Sailboat Races.Audience: The audience are people of the Rexburg Area that enjoy outdoor activities.Color scheme and color names: Aspect. Black, White, Sepia and Red Accent 2Top Thing Learned: This week I really developed the skill of making a simple design with minimal colors. My draft contained 6 colors and I felt like that was too much. I simplified the design down to three colors and I feel much better about the message not being over shadowed by the many colors.Title Font Name & Category: Mongolian Baiti- Old StyleCopy Font Name & Category: Miriam Fixed- Slab Serif
