THIS WEEKEND: Starting Thursday, Oregon State is at Washing-ton, as OSU’s Andrew Moore is second in the Pac-12 in strikeouts (75) and fourth in ERA (1.94)... starting on Friday, Gonzaga is at UCLA, as the Bruins have not lost a series all season... Stanford is at Oregon as Drew Jackson (17) and Tommy Edman have scored a combined 36 runs in April, most of any duo in the conference... Arizona, with two of the conference’s top hitters in Scott Kingery (.440) and Kevin Newman (.379), is at Washington State, one of the Pac-12’s hottest teams... USC is at Utah, as the Trojans are hit-ting .294 with a 3.15 ERA, both third in the Pac-12. Bobby Stahel is also second in the Pac-12 in hits (69) and runs (43)... Arizona State is at California in a top-20 matchup which matches up the .305 hitting Sun Devils against the Bears, who has a 2.75 ERA. A sweep by ASU ties with with UCLA (16-5) for first.

BY THE NUMBERS: Three of the six seven-game winners come from UCLA’s starting rotation... with Tuesday’s 12th inning loss, USC has now played six extra inning games this year. The loss to CS Fullerton was its first extra inning loss of the year... Washington State was the Pac-12’s hottest team in April, winning 12 of 16 games this month, hitting .290 with a 2.19 ERA. Ryan Waker had a 0.92 ERA over six games, while Sam Triece had a 1.27 ERA over nine games... UCLA reliever Grant Dyer did not give up an earned run in the month over 12 games and 16.0 innings... in four starts, Daulton Jefferies was 2-1 with an 0.44 ERA for the Bears in April... Stanford’s Zach Hoff-pauir drove in 15 runs, second only to Bobby Dalbec (17) in April. Dalbec also hit seven home runs... overall, four primary second baseman are hitting over .300 on the season at their respective positions only, led by Pac-12 leader Scott Kingery (.440 at second base only), followed by USC’s Dante Flores (.319), Oregon’s Mitch-ell Tolman (.315) and Utah’s Kody Davis (.311)... USC’s Bobby Sta-hel (.386 in the outfield only) is the top hitting outfielder, followed by Utah’s Wyler Smith (.355), ASU’s Tyler Allen (.341) and OSU’s Jeff Hendrix (.340).

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: UCLA’s Darrell Miller, Jr. and his .500 average and CALIFORNIA’s Ryan Mason and his 8.0 shutout innings were named the Pac-12 Player and Pitcher of the Week.

MILLER in the series win at Stanford went 6-for-12 with six RBIs and three doubles as UCLA won its tenth-straight series. After drop-ping the opener to the Cardinal on Friday, Miller went 2-for-4 with three RBIs on Saturday and added a three-hit, three-RBI day on Sunday to complete the series win. Miller also doubled three times.

MASON against the Pac-12’s top hitting team, Arizona, pitched 8.0 shutout innings to begin a series sweep of the Wildcats. Mason scat-tered five hits, struck out two and walked one in the 4-0 win. Mason is 5-2 with a 3.12 ERA over 11 starts for the Bears this season. He is one of four Cal pitchers with at least four wins this season.

NATIONAL RANKINGS: UCLA (37-7) remains at No. 2 followed by No. 7 Arizona State (28-12) and No. 13 USC (30-12) in Baseball America. In Collegiate Baseball, the Bruins are No. 2, followed by No. 6 ASU, No. 13 California (26-14), No. 16 USC, and No. 18 Oregon State (27-13).
