CHOIR NEWS
I am grateful to our organist Merry Naddeo and the
OLMM Choir having created a schedule to sing at
different Masses on the weekends throughout the
course of the year.
Some parishioners informed me they were not even
aware we had a parish choir due to the fact the choir
normally only sings at the 10:00 a.m. Mass each
Sunday. Now with this new choir schedule everyone
in the parish will be able to hear these great voices
and its director.

AN EVENING OF SEARCHING AND ENRICHMENT
Last Tuesday evening, September 24th, 2013 the Young Adult Group of OLMM traveled to the House of Dis-
cernment of the Diocese of Brooklyn to experience and evening of prayer, discussion, laughter and baked ziti.
The Diocesan Director of Vocations, Fr. Kevin Abels, led the theme of discerning the calls in life: marriage,
priesthood/religious, and single life, as options open to each of us as a call from God.
The discussion of the evening was lively, realistic and conducive for faith sharing and searching the meaning
of one’s life as young, or as old we may be. I am grateful to Henry and Mary Macchiaroli for organizing this
event as continued faith formation moments for the young in our parish and for the support and presence of:
Mrs. Masha, Mrs. Ruiz, Mrs. Gubicza, Mrs. Hertler and Fr. Johny.

VANDALISM IN OUR CHURCH AND FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL CONCERNED
In the past several weeks and since the summer, I have noted in the lobby of the church, the candle room and
at the entrance of the church during the morning hours after Mass: garbage, containers, bags and movement of
the candle stands to hide boxes, etc., continues to occur.
I have yet to call the local police precinct regarding these issues. Since the morning 8:30 a.m. Mass is usually
complete by 9:15 a.m., and for the safety of parishioners who may stay a while longer in the church, the doors
will be closed at 9:30 a.m. unless there is a funeral.
If anyone in the church, during the hours that it is opened, weekday or even weekend sees something that
should be reported, please take the opportunity to inform me. We must work together to preserve our church,
its dignity and its sanctity.
