Mr. Bryson combines humor, wonder and curiosity into his fact-filled adventure tale. Linda Krause will lead the discussion as Facilitator. Linda has lived in Australia and will add colorful insight and detail to this meeting. Visions of lace, Rose bou-quets, blue garters, happy tears all lead us into the sum-mer wedding season. Many will be chosen to give a toast or reading at the reception, so here are a few funny readings from literature that you might want to remember, especially when “Uncle Lou” (Fill in your family’s relative) decides to regale the party with embar-rassing tales about the Bride or Groom—or perhaps, about his divorce. The annual Blueberry Fes-tival, scheduled for August 5th and 6th,will be here be-fore long and as a reminder, the Susquehanna County His-torical Society & Free Library Association will be accepting donations of clean, saleable items for the White Elephant Sale from 9AM to 2PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays dur-ing the months of June and July (June 7th to July 21st). Please note there is a new drop-off location this year at the former Loomis Pipe Plant, located across from Tractor Supply on Route 706. You will see the signs for direction. We would like to convey our sin-cere thanks to the Loomis Real Estate Corporation for their kindness and generosity con-cerning the space. It is truly appreciated.

The last day for Blueberry Festival book donations is June 30th—after this date we will not be accepting book donations again until Octo-ber 1st. Please drop off books for donation at the Montrose Main Library Location.

The Forest City Branch Reader’s Group will meet at 1:00 PM on June 29th to dis-cuss their June Selection, “In a Sunburned Country” by Bill Bryson. Author Bryson has previously regaled us with his memorable travel “Log” con-

cerning the Appalachian Trail (“A Walk in the Woods”—a National Bestseller), and, this time, he reports on an entirely different location, Austra-lia— a continent , which he discovers has the friendliest inhabitants, tremendously hot and dry weather, and some of the most peculiar and lethal wildlife to be found on planet Earth. Mr. Bryson combines humor, wonder and curiosity into his fact-filled adventure tale. Linda Krause will lead the discussion as Facilitator. Linda has lived in Australia and will add colorful insight and detail to this meeting. If you want to join in, please stop by and speak with Diana, Joan or Andrea and they will be more than happy to sign you up.

As I refill the birdbath and watch the bird parents encour-age their babies to come to the feeder, I leave you with this thought:
