Past Projects
EU Project: SPRING
• The project aim is to develop a novel paradigm and novel concept of socially-aware robots.
• This includes conceiving innovative methods and algorithms for computer vision, audio processing, sensor-based control and spoken dialog systems.
• PAL Robotics is designing and manufacturing prototypes of high-performance ARI robots, as well as integrating the software developed by partners.
• The goal is to be able to participate in user-cases in a hospital environments, such as welcoming newcomers to the waiting room.
January 2020 December 2023
2020 2021 2022 2023
• SHAPES is aimed at a large-scale deployment of a broad range of digital solutions for supporting and extending healthy and independent living for older individuals.
• SHAPES is focussed on building an interoperable platform combining more than 10 smart technologies.
• In the project there are seven pilots for testing healthcare digital solutions.
• PAL Robotics is adapting TIAGo and ARI robots to participate in the pilots.
EU Project: SHAPES November 2019 October 2023
2019 2020 2021 2022 2023
EU Project: OpenDR
• The Open DR project aim is to develop a modular, open and non-proprietary tool kit for core robotic functionalities by harnessing deep learning to provide advanced perception and cognition capabilities.
• PAL Robotics is developing a demonstration arena for interacting with people and tools in our facilities.
• The project will have three demonstrators in: agri-food, agile manufacturing and healthcare.

2020 2021 2022 2023
EU Project: Enrich Me
• The Enrich Me project aim was to provide social support, encouraging and engaging with older individuals in their daily lives.
• This involved long-term validation of the robot in homes of tolder users.
