Root Cause of the conflict:

Jews and Arabs peacefully and cooperatively coexisted in the Palestine region(Israel-today)

Considerably more Arabs lived in the area than Jews

European Jews looked for solutions to a non-existent Palestine Arab and Jew problem-birth of Zionism

U.N. affirm Palestinians rights to land and liberties but initiatives repeatedly blocked by U.S. veto

1987-1993 First Intifada (shaking off)-mass uprising of Palestine civilian population.

Israel response "Break the Bone" strategy-retribution in mass for any Palestinian insurrections

1993-Oslo Accords broker a peace between Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO).

Palestinians were still being oppressed and driven out of their homes .

PLO became a corrupt organization and provided little relief and representation of the Palestinian

people

The Palestinian people were put in non contagious areas of land in the Gaza Strip and West Bank

surrounded by Israeli settlements and Israeli use only roads. (see map)

Sunni-largest branch of Islam "elected muslims", labeled as terrorist by US

Hamas-Sunni controlled Islamist Palestinian party that believes all of Palestine is a holy Muslim war and

that no part may be surrendered to foreigners. The Hamas Charter quotes the forged Protocols of the

Elders of Zion.

Shi'ite Muslims are preponderant in Iran and supports the PLO

Sunni do not recognize Shi'ite as Muslims

Israel political Zionistic initiatives continually encroach on legally owned Palestinian lands with military

and civilian settlers forced occupation, home destruction and Jewish settlements

Two types of Jewish settlers

Ideological settlers-settle because it is by "God's Right"-Zionists

Ordinary settlers-consist of the majority-taking advantage of an opportunity to own land

sanctioned by the Israeli government.

Settlers are heavily subsidized by the Israeli government -all housing loans are forgiven if settlers stay in

their homes for 10 years.

APAC is a Jewish Pro Israel US lobby group

Fundamental Christians believe in a strong Israel due to Armageddon/Apocalypse reasons

European, Arabic and American Christian involvement-a lot of Palestine Arabs are Christians

US and European media lying about the plight of the Palestinians by omission. Actively through their

actions support Israel.

Israel is in continual violation of the tenants of the convention (IV) relative to the Protection of Civilian

Persons in Time of War. Geneva, 12 August 1949. (4th Geneva Convention).

U.S. government supports Israel-10 billion /yr-uses UN veto power to prevent UN from sanctioning Israel

in any manner.

2000-Palenstians negotiate peace with compromise of 97% Land 97% sovereignty (?????)

Prison analogy-In a prison Inmates have 97% of prison area and 3% freedom to move around in the area.

Guards have 3% of area and 97% freedom to move about the area.

Sept. 2000 2nd Intifada

Palestine response to Israeli response to 2nd Intifada used suicide bombings directed at Israel

Israel further restricts movement of Palestinians with road blocks, restrictive laws, harassment,

bulldozing of houses, etc..

This restriction of movement prevents Palestinians from education and employment and goods.

Israel occupation is root cause of the "Palestinian problem".

Israel settlers moved out of the Gaza Strip (probably through some sort of peace initiative) Each settler

was paid 200K for their homes by the U.S. (over 2 billion dollars of US funds)

Over 4 million Palestinians in refugee camps

Harassment- Israeli settlers (authorized to carry automatic guns) routinely come into Gaza Strip and

"shoot up the place" to disrupt the lives of the Palestinians.

Children demoralized-Don't care about living

International Solidarity Movement-Peaceful international civilian movement to help Palestinians

Racheal Corrie activist killed while trying to prevent the bulldozing of houses by Israel

2005- Wall erected by Israel to prevent encroachment of Palestinian settlements

Suicide bombings increase

Israels problem is US problem because we support Israel

114 billion of US funds to Israel since inception

Majority of foreign aid budget is directed to Israel (~2 billion a year)

Fringe Benefits from association with U.S. include access to military technology and training

Since film was made Gaza Strip has been raided by Israel and conditions have gotten worse.

Causes for 911 can be traced back to the Israeli and Palestinian conflict

Question posed by Prof. Do Muslims in China care about Jerusalem being occupied by Israel?

yes-Jerusalem is where Mohammad ascended to heaven

Third most holiest cities to Muslims. First is Mecca than Medinia

Root of the problem-Roman Empire converts to Christanity (Constantine). If not-Christianity would not

have survived.

Many "mass killing of Jews" in history (Masada, Burning of the Temple of Solomon). Holocaust is the

"world guilt" that underlies all the problems associated with the conflict.
