Tucked away on the eastern slopes of the Volcan Barú is the small and charming mountain

village of

• Boquete, in the highlands of the Chiriqui Province is very well known by the plants and flowers are being produced here

• Known to produce some of the sweetest oranges and richest coffees in all of Panama, Boquete is quickly becoming a destination for those visitors seeking the most enchanting weather in the world.

• Boquete is to coffee as Bordeaux is to wine.

• Panama's coffee has been considered to be the best coffee in the world for 3 years in row.

•So,it would be a little bit strange if you came to Boquete and you left

without visiting a coffee plantation, don't you think so? Prepare your taste buds for an explosion of flavors!

• On the sheer mountains that surround the valley of Boquete live the Ngöbe Bugles, Panama's most numerous indigenous ethnic group who are highly skilled artisans.

• The Ngöbe indigenous in their colorful dresses make the decorate the town with bright and rich colors.

• The Ngöbe Bugles Indians (Guaymí) are also responsible for handpicking the specialty coffee of the region during the months of November through March and indigenous families from all over the province of Chiriqui make there way to Boquete during the harvesting season.

• Coincident with the coffee harvest is the Flower Festival.

• The gardens of Boquete are rivaled only by the great Mediterranean garden centers of California, Italy, and South Africa. This verdant production is best witnessed at the Festival, but can be seen throughout the year in a variety of contexts.

• The fair grounds are used only once a year for this special event that features beautiful floral displays and handicrafts from all of Central and South America.

• Each year the Boquete Flower and Coffee fair draws more visitors

• The flowers and plants are part of the farmers show together with the products of the coffee plantations of this prolific region.

Bromeliads cover the shade trees on the

fincas. Deep flowerbeds adorn the inns. And, rated as

one of the top three private gardens in the world, Mi Jardin es Su

Jardin is open to visitors who are

encouraged to wander the grounds, enjoying

the vision and hospitality of the

owners.
