Mat 1:2 Abraham was the father of Isaac,Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father

of Judah and his brothers.

Gen 18:18 since Abraham will surely becomea great and mighty nation, and in him all the

nations of the earth will be blessed?

Gen 22:15 Then the angel of the LORD calledto Abraham a second time from heaven,

Gen 22:16 and said, "By Myself I have sworn,

declares the LORD, because you have done this

thing and have not withheld your son, your only

son,

Gen 22:17 indeed I will greatly bless you, and I

will greatly multiply your seed as the stars ofthe heavens and as the sand which is on the

seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of

their enemies.

Gen 22:18 "In your seed all the nations of the

earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed

My voice."

Mat 1:3 Judah was the father of Perez andZerah by Tamar, Perez was the father of

Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram.

Gen 49:10 "The scepter shall not depart fromJudah, Nor the ruler's staff from between his

feet, Until Shiloh comes, And to him shall be

the obedience of the peoples.

Mat 1:6 Jesse was the father of David the

king. David was the father of Solomon by

Bathsheba who had been the wife of Uriah.

2Sa 7:2 that the king said to Nathan the

prophet, "See now, I dwell in a house of cedar,

but the ark of God dwells within tent curtains."

Isa 11:1 Then a shoot will spring from the stemof Jesse, And a branch from his roots will bear

Isa 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on

Isa 11:5 Also righteousness will be the beltabout His loins, And faithfulness the belt about

His waist.

Isa 11:6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,And the leopard will lie down with the young

goat, And the calf and the young lion and the

fatling together; And a little boy will lead them.

Isa 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will

be given to us; And the government will rest onHis shoulders; And His name will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal

Mat 1:12 After the deportation to Babylon:

Mat 1:16 Jacob was the father of Joseph thehusband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born,who is called the Messiah.

The term Messiah is used many times in the OTusually referring to a single person. For thisreason it is interpreted as a title. Hence this is a

messianic reference.

Mat 1:20 But when he had considered this,behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him

in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do

not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for

the Child who has been conceived in her is ofthe Holy Spirit.

The genealogy of Christ traces its linage backto David through Joseph.

Mat 1:23 "BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL

BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR ASON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS

NAME IMMANUEL," which translated

means, "GOD WITH US."

Isa 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give

you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with childand bear a son, and she will call His name

Immanuel

Isa 8:8 "Then it will sweep on into Judah, it

will overflow and pass through, It will reach

even to the neck; And the spread of its wings

will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

Isa 8:9 "Be broken, O peoples, and beshattered; And give ear, all remote places of theearth. Gird yourselves, yet be shattered; Gird

yourselves, yet be shattered.

Isa 8:10 "Devise a plan, but it will be thwarted;State a proposal, but it will not stand, For God

is with us."

Isa 8:11 For thus the LORD spoke to me withmighty power and instructed me not to walk in

the way of this people, saying,

Isa 8:12 "You are not to say, 'It is a

conspiracy!' In regard to all that this people call

a conspiracy, And you are not to fear what theyfear or be in dread ofit.

Isa 8:13 "It is the LORD of hosts whom you

should regard as holy. And He shall be your

fear, And He shall be your dread.

Isa 8:14 "Then He shall become a sanctuary;But to both the houses of Israel, a stone to strike

and a rock to stumble over,Anda snare and atrap for the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Mat 2:4 Gathering together all the chiefpriests and scribes of the people, he inquired

of them where the Messiah was to be born.

Mic 5:2 "But as for you, Bethlehem

ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from longago, From the days of eternity."

Mat 2:15 He remained there until the death of

Herod. This was to fulfill what had been

spoken by the Lord through the prophet:"OUT OF EGYPT I CALLED MY SON."

Hos 11:1 When Israel was a youth I loved him,

And out of Egypt I called My son.

Hos 11:2 The more they called them, The more

they went from them; They kept sacrificing tothe Baals And burning incense to idols.

Hos 11:3 Yet it is I who taught Ephraim to

walk, I took them in My arms; But they did not

know that I healed them.

Hos 11:4 I led them with cords of a man, with

bonds of love, And I became to them as one

who lifts the yoke from their jaws; And I bentdown andfed them.

Hos 11:5 They will not return to the land ofEgypt; But Assyria--he will be their king

Because they refused to return to Me.

Hos 11:6 The sword will whirl against their

cities, And will demolish their gate bars And

consume them because of their counsels.

Hos 11:7 So My people are bent on turning

from Me. Though they call them to the One on

high, None at all exaltsHim.

Hos 11:8 How can I give you up, O Ephraim?How can I surrender you, O Israel? How can Imake you like Admah? How can I treat you like

Zeboiim? My heart is turned over within Me,

All My compassions are kindled.

Hos 11:9 I will not execute My fierce anger; I

will not destroy Ephraim again. For I am God

and not man, the Holy One in your midst, And Iwill not come in wrath.

Hos 11:10 They will walk after the LORD, Hewill roar like a lion; Indeed He will roar And

His sons will come trembling from the west.

Hos 11:11 They will come trembling like birdsfrom Egypt And like doves from the land of

Assyria; And I will settle them in their houses,

declares the LORD.

Mat 2:18 "A VOICE WAS HEARD INRAMAH, WEEPING AND GREATMOURNING, RACHEL WEEPING FOR

HER CHILDREN; AND SHE REFUSED TO

BE COMFORTED, BECAUSE THEYWERE NO MORE."

Jer 31:15 Thus says the LORD, "A voice isheard in Ramah, Lamentation andbitterweeping. Rachel is weeping for her children;

She refuses to be comforted for her children,

Because they are no more."

Mat 2:23 and came and lived in a city calledNazareth. This was to fulfill what was spoken

through the prophets: "He shall be called a

Nazarene."

Zec 3:8 'Now listen, Joshua the high priest,you and your friends who are sitting in front of

you--indeed they are men who are a symbol, for

behold, I am going to bring in My servant theBranch.

Zec 6:12 "Then say to him, 'Thus says the

LORD of hosts, "Behold, a man whose name isBranch, for He will branch out from where He

is; and He will build the temple of the LORD.

Isa 4:2 In that day the Branch of the LORD will

be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the

earth will be the pride and the adornment of the

survivors of Israel.

Mat 3:3 For this is the one referred to by

Isaiah the prophet when he said, "THE

VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE

WILDERNESS, 'MAKE READY THE WAYOF THE LORD, MAKE HIS PATHS

STRAIGHT!'"

Isa 40:3 A voice is calling, "Clear the way for

the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in

the desert a highway for our God.

Mat 3:4 Now John himself had a garment ofcamel's hair and a leather belt around his

waist; and his food was locusts and wildhoney.

2Ki 1:8 They answered him, "He was a hairyman with a leather girdle bound about his

loins." And he said, "It is Elijah the Tishbite."

Mat 3:12 "His winnowing fork is in His hand,

and He will thoroughly clear His threshingfloor; and He will gather His wheat into the

barn, but He will burn up the chaff with

unquenchable fire."

Dan 12:1 "Now at that time Michael, the great

prince who stands guardover the sons of yourpeople, will arise. And there will be a time of

distress such as never occurred since there was

a nation until that time; and at that time your

people, everyone who is found written in thebook, will be rescued.

Dan 12:2 "Many of those who sleep in the dustof the ground will awake, these to everlasting

life, but the others to disgrace andeverlasting

contempt.

Dan 12:3 "Those who have insight will shine

brightly like the brightness of the expanse of

heaven, and those who lead the many to

righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

Mat 4:2 And after He had fasted forty daysand forty nights, He then became hungry.

Gen 6:9 These are the records ofthegenerations of Noah. Noah was a righteous

man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with

God.

Exo 34:28 So he was there with the LORD

forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread

or drink water. And he wrote on the tablets the

words of the covenant, the Ten

Commandments.

1Ki 19:8 So he arose and ate and drank, andwent in the strength of that food forty days andforty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Mat 4:4 But He answered and said, "It is

written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON

BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD

THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTHOF GOD.'"

Deu 8:3 "He humbled you and let you be

hungry, and fed you with manna which you did

not know, nor did your fathers know, that He

might make you understand that man does notlive by bread alone, but man lives by everything

that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.

Mat 4:6 and *said to Him, "If You are the

Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it iswritten, 'HE WILL COMMAND HIS

ANGELS CONCERNING YOU'; and 'ON

theirHANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP,

SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOURFOOT AGAINST A STONE.'"

Psa 91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the

Most High Will abide in the shadow of theAlmighty.

Psa 91:2 I will say to the LORD, "My refuge

and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!"

Psa 91:3 For it is He who delivers you from thesnare of the trapper And from the deadlypestilence.

Psa 91:4 He will cover you with His pinions,And under His wings you may seek refuge; His

faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

Psa 91:5 You will not be afraid of the terror bynight, Or of the arrow that flies by day;

Psa 91:6 Of the pestilence that stalks indarkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste atnoon.

Psa 91:7 A thousand may fall at your side Andten thousand at your right hand,Butit shall not

approach you.

Mat 4:7 Jesus said to him, "On the other

hand, it is written, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT

THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'"

Deu 6:16 "You shall not put the LORD your

God to the test, as you testedHim at Massah.

Satan! For it is written, 'YOU SHALL

Isa 9:2 The people who walk in darkness Willsee a great light; Those who live in a dark land,

The light will shine on them.

Isa 9:3 You shall multiply the nation, You shall

increase their gladness; They will be glad in

Your presence As with the gladness of harvest,

As men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

Isa 9:4 For You shall break the yoke of their

burden and the staff on their shoulders, The rodof their oppressor, as at the battle of Midian.

Isa 9:5 For every boot of the booted warrior inthe battle tumult, And cloak rolled in blood,will be for burning, fuel for the fire.

Isa 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son willbe given to us; And the government will rest on

Father, Prince of Peace.

Isa 9:7 There will be no end to the increase of

His government or of peace, On the throne ofDavid and over his kingdom, To establish it and

to uphold it with justice and righteousness Fromthen on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORDof hosts will accomplish this.

Mat 5:17 "Do not think that I came to abolish

the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to

abolish but to fulfill.

Jesus came to fulfill the law of the prophets.

Mat 5:21 "You have heard that the ancients

were told, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMITMURDER' and 'Whoever commits murder

shall be liable to the court.'

Exo 20:13 "You shall not murder.

Mat 10:1 Jesus summoned His twelvedisciples and gave them authority over

unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal

every kind of disease and every kind of

sickness.

12 Tribes -- 12 Apostles

Mat 10:15 "Truly I say to you, it will be more

tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah

in the day of judgment than for that city.

Sodom and Gomorrah are contrasted with

unbelieving Israel

Mat 10:18 and you will even be brought

before governors and kings for My sake, as a

testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

An allusion to the Abrahamic covenant promise

and subsequent prophetic revelation that God

would redeem the Gentiles.

Mat 10:23 "But whenever they persecute you

in one city, flee to the next; for truly I say to

you, you will not finish going through thecities of Israel until the Son of Man comes.


And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like

a Son of Man was coming, And He came up tothe Ancient of Days And was presented before

Him.

Mat 10:35 "For I came to SET A MANAGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A

DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER,

AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINSTHER MOTHER-IN-LAW;

Mic 7:6 For son treats father contemptuously,Daughter rises up against her mother, Daughter-

in-law against her mother-in-law; A man's

enemies are the men of his own household.

Mat 11:3 and said to Him, "Are You the

Expected One, or shall we look for someone

else?"

Isa 29:18 On that day the deaf will hear words

of a book, And out oftheirgloom and darkness

the eyes of the blind will see.

Isa 35:5 Then the eyes of the blind will beopened And the ears of the deaf will be

unstopped.

Isa 35:6 Then the lame will leap like a deer,

And the tongue of the mute will shout for joy.

For waters will break forth in the wildernessAnd streams in the Arabah.

"Behold, I am laying stumbling blocks before

this people. And they will stumble against them,Fathers and sons together; Neighbor and friend

will perish."

Mat 11:10 "This is the one about whom it is

WILL PREPARE YOUR WAY BEFORE

YOU.'

Exo 23:20 "Behold, I am going to send an

angel before you to guard you along the wayand to bring you into the place which I have

prepared.

And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenlycome to His temple; and the messenger of thecovenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is

it, John himself is Elijah who was to come.

and smite the land with a curse."

Mat 11:19 "The Son of Man came eating and

drinking, and they say, 'Behold, a gluttonousman and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors

and sinners!' Yet wisdom is vindicated by her

deeds."

Mat 11:20 Then He began to denounce thecities in which most of His miracles weredone, because they did not repent.

Mat 11:21 "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe toyou, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had

occurred in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in

you, they would have repented long ago in

sackcloth and ashes.

Amo 1:9 Thus says the LORD, "For threetransgressions of Tyre and for four I will not

revoke itspunishment, Because they delivered

up an entire population to Edom And did not

remember the covenant of brotherhood.

Joe 3:4 "Moreover, what are you to Me, O

Tyre, Sidon and all the regions of Philistia? Areyou rendering Me a recompense? But if you do

recompense Me, swiftly and speedily I will

return your recompense on your head.
