He was born in Seneca Falls, New Yorl<, March 15, 1877, the oldest of the five children of Seabury s. Gould and Eary Eitchell (Judd) Gould.

He is the grandson of the late Norman B. Judd, who nominated Lincoln as a candidate for President in 1860.

He was married in 1921 to Anna Benrath of Philadelphia.

He is a member of the Presbyterian Church.

He was educ3.ted in the schools of Seneca Falls, New York, Lawrenceville, ~Iew Jersey, Preparatory School, graduating in 1895, and at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, graduating as a 11::echanical Engineer in 1899.

During his stay at Cornell he was President of his Class for one year, member of the Masque, of Sigma Phi, ani of .:;.uill and Dagger, and Assistant Manager and Manager of the Cornell Crew in 1899.

On graduation from Cornell he became associated with the Goulds !-Ianuf 3.cturing Company, (now Goulds Pumps, Inc. ) in October, 1899, and has been associated with that com­pany to date.

In his ?ump experience he covered full training in all departments of the Pump business and has been ?resident of the Company from 1908 to date.

Hi3 various activities have been substantially as follows:

Hember of the Board of Education, Seneca Falls. Member of the Village Board of Trustees, Seneca Falls. Director of the former Exchange National Bank. Eember of the Board of Trustees of the local Savings Bank.

In 1908 he was Alternate at Large to the Republican National Convention. Delegate in 1916. 'vfas member of the riepublican State Committee and has been re-olected.

In 1912 he was elected Chairman of the Seneca County Republican Committee and continued in this position for about fifteen years.

In 1920 he was an Assistant Manager of the Campaign in an attempt to secure the nomination of General Leonard lfood as Republican candidate for ?resident and has con­tinued his interest and activity in the welfare of our country as a member of the Republican Party, ani took an active interest '.in.·the nomination and election of Robert Taft for President in 1952.

He is a life member of the American Society of I'iechanical Engineers, and was awarded a Fifty-Year button of this Society.
