1.1 Overview

Parabit System’s ACS Enterprise software supports the remote management and configuration of the ACS-2/ACS-1EV1/ACS-1EV2 (ACS Panels) ATM Lobby Card Entry Access Control Systems. Remote configuration changes, daily and holiday schedule updates, and system diagnostics can be per-formed remotely over an Ethernet or modem connection or locally via a crossover or serial cable.A central SQL database stores system activity and Fully Masked/PCI Compliant/Full Card/NFC-enabled mobile phone used audit trails, ACS Panel Event audit trails, and the ACS Enter-prise system’s user activity logs. This database also supports investigation of database changes, ACS Controller downloads/uploads, panel events, and card activity.

1.2 Hardware and Software Requirements

1.2.1 ACS Enterprise System Software and Hardware Requirements

1.2.1.1 Server Software

The ACS Enterprise software contains a relational database that has been tested to run on Microsoft SQL Express 2005, Standard SQL Server 2005, and Standard SQL 2008 server or later. The server is part of the Active Directory that contains the assigned users who connect to the system via Mixed Mode authentication. Communication between the SQL server and the client application is processed under normal Microsoft TCIP communication port protocols. There have been no customizations to theconfiguration of the data links.

1.2.1.2 Server Hardware

The minimum server hardware requirements are listed below:

• Memory: 8GB with ECC• Processor: x64 running at 2GHz or faster; Intel core i3 or higher preferred• Hard Drive: min 100GB• Network Adapter: GigabitThe database consumes approximately 100 MB of disk space for a complete install of data. The card data and panel events consume approximately 10 GB of disk space per 1,000 panels per year within the SQL database for ACS Enterprise.

TABLE 1–2. Card Reader Configuration Settings

b. In the Card Match subsection, configure the card match settings for each card reader(s):• For Mag Stripe, select one of the following:

• Any Card: Accepts all cards• Partial Match: Accepts cards that have a partial match in the BIN file• Bank Card with Partial Match Fallback: Accepts Credit/Debit Cards that follow the Bank

ISO Magnetic Encoding specification (Track 2 of the Magnetic Stripe is encoded begin-ning with a 4 or 5 with a single field separator “=” character encoded between the 11thand 21st digit) or the leading digits encoded in Track 2 (where the card encodingbegins with 0, 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9) is an entry found within the specified BIN file programmedwithin the ACS Panel.

• For MMR, select one of the following:• Protocol Match: Detects a financial protocol match. Accepts NFC protocols ISO 15693,

ISO 14443A&B and FeliCa.• Financial Basic: Detects ISO 14443A-4 compliant and ISO 14443B protocols, which are

used for contactless credit and debit cards, and creates a UID (unique session ID num-ber).

• Financial Advanced: Completes a Financial Basic match and requires a PAN (PrimaryAccount Number) from a contactless device or a token from a mobile device.

Setting Description

Card Reader Assigns the card reader to a door. Recommended delay time: 5 to 8 seconds

Egress Assigns the Egress “exit” and/or Key Override “bypass” switch to a door. Recommended delay time: 5 to 8 seconds.

Auto Relock Assigns the automatic relock switch to the programmed Door Relay and cuts the Card Reader and Egress Delay down to 1 second

Door AjarSets the maximum amount of time the door can remain open. Available delay time: 1 to 5 minutes. Sends out a message via the ACS Controller cache that the door is being held open.

Blink Red

Sets the card reader LED indicator to a blinking red state

This feature only works with Legacy ACS-2 Insert and Swipe, and ACS-1E Insert and Swipe Card Readers.

MMR Skim Count

Sets the MMR skim count (default is 5)

The multi media reader (MMR) skim count is a NFC skim detection algorithm. The skim count represents the number of detections before issuing an alarm. If 3 is selected, then a phone held close to the MMR for too long may be considered an interception device, thus issuing a false alarm. If 10 is selected, it may take up to 40 minutes to detect a potential skimming device. Selecting 5 (recommended default) detects NFC skimming in a maximum of 20 minutes, which is considered reasonable and minimizes the risk of a false alarm.

For example, when July 4th occurs on a Monday, the daily access schedule of Open from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM is overridden for the Independence Day holiday schedule of Card from midnight to midnight. The software is preset with a standard holiday schedule enabled (i.e. 24 Hour Card access set for all U.S. federal holidays). This schedule can be adjusted, more schedules created and additional holidays added by following the steps below.

Note: ACS Enterprise supports an unlimited number of holiday schedules.

3.6 AXSView IP/Ports

The AXSView IP/Ports setting adds the addresses to be used on the Site Management screen for ACS Controller assignment. AXSView Service is a message repeater that receives message code from ACS Controllers and then forwards those messages to an alarm console. This service runs 24/7 on a server as a ground process. ACS Controllers are configured to know where the AXSView service resides for communication. See “AXSView Transceiver Installation and Configuration Version 1.0.6” on page 113 for additional informa-tion.Follow the directions below to add addresses and ports that will appear as drop down options on the Site Management screen.

3.7 DNS Settings

ACS Enterprise software can access the ACS Controllers through the use of a DNS name instead of an IP address. Depending on the firmware and version of the ACS Controller, DNS names can also be used for the ACS Controller's communication with external systems.DNS names are also referred to as Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) or Uniform Resource Locator (URL). DNS is a system where a name is replaced and/or converted to an IP address. These relation-ships are maintained by a DNS server on the individual network and are not set or managed by ACS Enterprise software. DNS lookup for the ACS Enterprise software is managed by the individual PC run-ning the software and configured by the administrator of the individual network. A simple test to see if a DNS has been configured is to open a web page; if the web page opens, then the PC is configured.

3.7.1 Accessing DNS Settings

For an ACS Controller to convert the DNS name to an IP address for proper network communication, it must know the IP address of the DNS Server servicing this function on the local network.
