NIU Concert Band Festival Presented by Phantom Regiment

Parents Information Dear Parents, We’re thrilled to be hosting your children at the fourth annual NIU Concert Band Festival, presented by the Phantom Regiment. If you’re planning on attending the festival, here is some information we think will be helpful. WHERE IS IT? Boutell Memorial Concert Hall, in the Music Building, on the campus on Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL WHERE DO I PARK? Parking is available in the Visitors Parking Lot on Carroll Avenue, just north of Lincoln Highway (IL 38). The cost is $5.00 and the Music Building is short walk from this lot. WHAT IS THE SPECTATOR FEE? There is no fee for coming to watch the bands perform. WHAT HAPPENS AT THIS EVENT? The bands will each have 30 minutes to warm-up and prepare for their performance with their band director. They will then proceed to the Concert Hall, where they will have 30 minutes to perform before an audience and some of the best adjudicators and clinicians in the Midwest. Immediately after their performance, they will move to the clinic room, where they will have a 30-minute session with one of the event’s clinicians. Once this clinic is finished, they will either go listen to the other bands, or whatever else their band director may have planned. WHERE CAN I BE? Please note the location of the Spectator Entrance (south side of building) on the attached Music Building Map. The hallways get very crowded and classes are is session, so we ask that spectators stay in the Concert Hall or in the Lobby. WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE? There is a schedule attached to this letter.
