Spang Power Control has introduced a new line of compact, economical SCR power controllers. The new 550 Series is available in single- or three- phase, with zero-crossover control. It accepts input voltage of 120-575 VAC and output ratings are available at 15-, 25-, and 40-A resistive. The 550 Series is ideal for proportional control of AC

power to electric heating loads such as furnaces, ovens, environmental cham- bers, extrusion and forming equip- ment, and many other process heating applications using resistive elements. The 550 Series is capable of millions of operating cycles as it contains no moving parts to wear out. Zero-cross- over firing eliminates RFI, harmonics, and other electrical noise.

exhibits exceptional brightener stabil- ity, low stress deposits, resistance to over additions, and excellent tolerance to iron contamination. While the proc- ess does not contain cyanide or com- plexors, it is easily adaptable to equip- ment used with cyanide zinc. Because of its noncyanide composition, effluent can be disposed of by neutralizing the pH and separating the precipitated zinc.
