Editors’ Message Dear readers,

we would like to welcome you to our last issue of the PASCAL Herald for this year. As another academic year has come to an end it is worthwhile to keep reflecting on everything that both pupils and teachers have gained over these past couple of months.

Inside this issue you will see a lot of hard work, participation in national and international competitions, clubs, sports, events, many academic achievements, and this year’s amazing school play. We are very proud that our pupils have not only excelled academically but also in many ex-tracurricular activities.

Dear Graduating students: as graduation is close by, constantly look with-in yourselves, rediscover your strengths and remember that learning never ends. Remember to “believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obsta-cle” (Christian D. Larson). Remember that the best is yet to come.

Well done to our pupil Marios Vouryias of class 6Α for attaining 2nd place in the 4th PANCYPRIAN PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION 2018 organised by the Cyprus Photographic Society, supported by the Min-istry of Education and Culture.

What better way to mark the end of school before the Easter Break than displaying compas-sion, kindness and the willing-ness to help others! Following our Easter celebration assem-bly Class Presidents handed over a total of €1,660 raised by all Year groups, to the Cyprus Volunteerism Coordinative Council for their Adopt a Family scheme enabling them to help 12 local families in need. Thanks to all the students, par-ents and colleagues for their contributions! In addition, our Year 5&6 pupils and teachers donated blood in our annual blood donation event!

Our Year 1 pupils celebrating World Book Day with presentations and games in the school Library.

Congratulations to An-drea Loizidou of 4B for attaining 1st place in the Pancyprian Track and Field Competition. The competition was organised by the Cy-prus Ministry of Educa-tion and Culture.

Our Central Pupil Council President Sergios Kyriakides and Senior Mis-tress Ms. Nectaria Hadjisergis, proud-ly handing over the €400 raised through our Tsiknopempti event to Mr. Charis Spanoudis of the ‘Goal in Life’ Foundation!

Well done to Thekla Lambri - 5A for attaining 3rd place in the Lyceum category and Pantelis Vouryias 2A for attaining a Distinction in the Gymnasium category in this year's Annual Pancyprian Essay Competi-tion organised by the Cyprus Arch-bishopric and to their Religious Knowledge teachers Mr. Thomas Papathomas and Ms. Andry Pa-pageorgiou.

Proud of our Elina Mita in Year 4 who attained Merit in the Pancyprian Student Photog-raphy Competition 2018 for students of Private Schools, organised by the Federation of Private Schools’ Parents & Guardians Associations!

We are very proud of our award for outstanding Volunteerism given to us by the Nicosia Volunteerism Co-ordinative Council following our fundraising efforts for their ‘Adopt a Family’ programme! Well done to all our pupils, teachers and parents and to the members of staff who made it all possible Mr. Thomas Papathomas, Ms. Maria Xenophon-tos and Ms. Nectaria Hadjisergis

In one of our assemblies we proudly handed over our do-nation to CANS FOR KIDS, raised by our Year 2 pupils through their environmental awareness week!

Photos of our Year 2 pupils during their event that helped them raise €150 for Cans For Kids as part of their Environmental Awareness Week!! Well done also to their Form Teachers and Head of Year for all their help!

Our Poseidon House Captains George Phanis and Valeria Antoniou visited the Anemoni Centre for Spastic and Handi-capped Children to hand over the €626 raised by the pupils of Poseidon House! Well done to all!!!

Here is our own Irene Kontou with her coach right after the competition. She achieved two 3rd places in individual and team kumite, at the 6th International Karate Tournament in Sofia, Bul-garia on Saturday 17th of March 2018. Congratulations Irene. We are ever so proud of you.

And the winners of the Year 1A Egg Drop Challenge are: Alexandros Tsialis, Orestis Eracleous, and Solonas Odysseos! Well done!

In light of ‘Earth Hour’, Geography students in Year 2 presented their ideas on how to make Cyprus more eco-friendly and use renewable energy. Well done to the students for some real-ly original ideas and to their teacher Dr Simon Philips for the initiative!

Learning goes beyond the classroom when teachers take the time to form bonds which teach so many life lessons! 2B enjoying an afternoon of bowling with their English teach-er, Ms Photini Lignos, this weekend!

Proud of our JA team today as they presented their company and product CHOCSTICKS at the JA Trade Fair at the Mall of Cyprus. They were greeted by teachers, sponsors, mentors, sup-porters, friends and interested customers!

The pupils of the Biomedical Club attended a lec-ture on sexually transmitted diseases by our very own biology teacher Ms. Valando Demetriou!

The pupils of the Shooting Club en-joyed their last day at the Latsia Shooting Grounds.

The pupils of the IncrEDIBLES Club spent their day at ‘Yiayia Victoria’ and saw how traditional sweets are made

Our dearest Amelie has turned 18!
