Trinity Financial Status Thanks be to God for the gifts given for the work of the church!

Monthly offering needed to support the ministry plan: $ 54,896.00

Treasurer’s Report Balance Sheet

As of the end of August, current assets (cash and stocks) totaled

$78,279, comprised of $51,197 in checking and $50,504 in the money market account.

The Thrivent mortgage balance decreased to $232,645 while member loans are at

$365,859. Available cash in the checking account is $ -5,430, due to the rest being

designated to specific accounts.

Opportunities for Adult Spiritual Growth We have begun new adult Bible classes. We offer three studies: 1. Monday

mornings at 7:00. We are examining the spread of God’s Word as recorded in the book of Acts. 2. Thursday mornings at 10:30. We are growing in our understanding of Christian doctrine as they are presented in the book of Romans. 3. Sunday Bible study at 9:15. We are wrestling with some of Jesus’ harder sayings and apply them to our lives. You are invited to one or more of these Bible studies. Christian fellowship is a bonus.

Bible Readings Included as an insert is a series of weekly Bible readings (beginning on Sunday,

September 22). These readings feature hymns which contain many Scriptural truths. These same readings are found in the September newsletter.

Door Offering – Today Today we will gather a door offering for the Lutheran Women’s Missionary

Society. The gifts will be designated for the missions to be selected at the next LWMS rally.

October Meetings We are encouraging members to participate in the small-group meetings during

the month of October. The Trinity elders will be phoning members to invite them to specific dates, according to the groupings assigned to each of the elders. The groups and dates are as follows:

Albertin through Cowen – Kris Roeseler (920-261-3177) date: October 3 Craig through Gartzke – Larry Arndt (920-261-9494) date: October 1 Garvens through Koch – Gary Muir (920-262-0856) date: October 21 Kohlhoff through McManama – Dale Zastrow (920-261-8731) date: October 24 Meis through Richter – Jim Schwartz (608-206-6659) date: October 15 Robbins through Seelman – Steve Pett (920-988-2049) date: October 17 Seibel through Virgil – Myron Duin (920-285-6951) date: October 10 Voss through Zuleger – William Nass (920-285-3457) date: October 8.

The meetings are scheduled to begin at 6:30 and last for about an hour. If you are unable to make the date assigned to your elder’s group, you may attend any of the other meetings.

Altar Flowers The flowers on the altar have been given by the family of Carl Voss in honor of his

90th birthday. We pray for the Lord’s blessings on Carl and family.

Meals on Wheels

The next opportunity to deliver Meals on Wheels to our Watertown neighbors is the week of October 14-18. The signup sheet can be found in the Fireside Room. For more information call Lefty Zuleger at 920-261-7917.

Grants for Trinity Students The Trinity Trusts and Estate Planning Committee will meet on October 2 to

disburse grants to Trinity students. Those studying at Martin Luther College and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary receive automatic grants. Parents with children at Lakeside Lutheran, Luther Prep and Trinity-St. Luke’s may apply for grants. The forms are available in the hallway next to the bulletin board outside the secretary’s office (or you may request one from either of the pastors).

Outdoor Service/Chili and Pie Cook Off The Evangelism and Fellowship committees are continuing to plan for October 13

in Riverside Park at 10:30am. A few clarifying points need to be made – this event is a new version of our church picnic so please plan to attend. Also, in the “pie rules” it asks for 2 pies – just to be sure it is clear, your entry is 2 of the same kind of pies to have enough for judging and people’s choice tasting.

We need more chili and pie entries if we are going to make this an evangelism event so please sign up soon. We need all entries by October 6. Online sign up is available at: Tinyurl.com/trinitychiliandpie. We are planning to service hot dogs for those who don’t care for chili.

The outdoor service will begin at 10:30am. We are hoping to start the chili sampling/judging by about noon with the pie sampling/judging to begin about 12:30pm. There will be fun family activities starting around 1:15pm with chili and pie results being announced around 2:45pm. There may be a bounce house! There also may be trophies! We may have Watertown’s Mayor and her husband judging! And we are hoping to have people from the community who need to know about Jesus! So plan to attend and support your church whether or not you have a chili or pie entry, come for God’s Word, the Christian fellowship and the tasty food!

Watertown WELS Live Nativity Dear fellow Watertown WELS members. Planning is now getting underway for our

annual Live Nativity which is sponsored by our four WELS congregations. But we are in need of more volunteers to continue to make this outreach effort the success it has been in the past.

We need volunteers in some of the following areas: publicity, designing and constructing the float for the Christmas parade, ordering food for the cast, and dressing the cast members in their costumes. Please contact Mary Schultz if you feel you can give us some help this year. You can call at 261-7959 or 920-342-4787 or e-mail at [email protected].

This is a cooperative effort of St. John’s, St. Mark’s, Trinity and St. Luke’s in Watertown and is presenting the first weekend in December which will be Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7 this year.

You’re Invited! WELS Lutherans for Life is hosting the Treasure Life fundraising events on Friday,

October 11 at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee (formerly Country Springs). There is no cost to attend the Luncheon or the Banquet. All funds raised will directly support life-affirming help for abortion-vulnerable mothers, a youth development program, pregnancy and parenting support, and helping people suffering post-abortion trauma. Registration is required-served. Learn more and register at www.eveningforlife.org, email [email protected], or call 414-727-8176.
