FROM THE DESK OF FR. LUKE... DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PADRE LUKE...
The Gospel portrays a stronger side of Jesus with the parable of
the tenets. At first glance we may think the story is harsh and
unfair, especially in terms of the man who comes to the feast but
does not wear wedding garments. He was invited! But, since he
was not prepared he is thrown out into the darkness. He, like the
others who were invited, refused to accept the invitation with
due respect. The king, who represents God, invites everyone to
the feast; however, “few are chosen.”
Who are the chosen and why are others not chosen?
The emphasis of the parable is a person’s rejection of Christ.
God invites, but we want to be king, we want to be god, so we
respond according to our own desires. Often we give into think-
ing we know better then the commands of Christ, to love God
with all our hearts and minds and to love our neighbor. Love is
inherently unselfish. Love is our free choice to devote ourselves
for others and completely accept the devotion given to us. It is a
free choice; however, if we do not devote ourselves and accept
the devotion of others then we do not love. God has chosen us
all to love, but we do not love in kind.
The people, who did not accept the invitation, were rejecting the
King’s generosity, which represents us rejecting God’s generous
Love through the sacraments and the good given to us by people
in our lives. The man who comes “not dressed in a wedding
garment” accepted the invitation, but was unwilling to respond
to the invitation appropriately. The man represents us who
come to the Eucharist ill prepared for we do not do for our
neighbor or we do not convert our hearts. Sure enough, we
should come to mass dressed appropriately and respectfully as if
we were going to meet the president, a governor, or the pope;
more importantly, it is about how we give ourselves to the com-
munity in holiness. Are we charitable, do we seek the truth; do
we act for the good in every aspect of our lives? Do we seek to
be Holy now? When people have little concern on how they
present themselves in public worship; it can represent little con-
cern for what is chosen in private.
The Parable of the Tenets explains to us that we are only tenets
of our lives. We have freedom to choose our way or God’s way.
By choosing our way we loose true life and end up bound in
darkness. However, if we choose God’s way, we are to accept
God’s invitation of Love, which is God’s divine self-donation,
and our response in kind represented by loving those around us
and giving our goodness.

El Evangelio enseña un lado más fuerte de Jesús con la parábola de los principios. A primera vista, podemos pensar que la histo-ria es dura e injusta, especialmente en términos del hombre que llega a la fiesta pero no usa traje de boda. ¡Estaba invitado! Pero, como no estaba preparado, es arrojado a la oscuridad. Él, al igual que los demás invitados, se negó a aceptar la invitación con el debido respeto. Attention Ministries and facility room users:
In preparation to opening and allowing room usage, we will start accepting Room Reservation Forms. The reservation peri-od will start from November 22, 2020 and end July 1, 2021. In addition, a plan to comply with Covid regulations must be sub-mitted with your Room Reservation requests. The plan must include a strategy to disinfect and clean the rooms, the equip-ment used in the rooms, enforce social distancing and face mask wearing and other Covid regulation requirements. We will start collecting Room Reservation Forms with attached Covid plans on October 28, 2020. Our processing and confirma-tion of the reservations should be completed by November 15, 2020. Please contact Kirk Hernandez at [email protected] for a list of requirements, instructions on how to use the disinfecting equipment and other reservation questions.
Please remember, reservations will be authorized fairly and according to our “Priority Order” policy. Also, our facility will comply with all mandates and directives from the Diocese, county, state and federal agencies. With this compliance there may be occasions were your event may need to be canceled or modified. We will notify you of any changes that will affect your event as soon as we become aware of them.

If you are signed up to come to Adoration, It is very important that you show up. It is essential that we never leave Our Lord unattended. He is there for us, we should be there for Him! It is also important you sign in each time you make your Holy Hour even if you’re visiting Jesus for a few minutes.
Eucharistic Adoration is a great gift and blessing! We are given the opportunity to pray and spend time in the Real Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.
