EXT. FUTURE CITY - NIGHT

ALEX, a worn and gaunt looking vampire runs for his life. He is several thousand years old. The sky and everything around him is extremely bright. Others run for shelter around him. Loud BOOMS can be heard in the distance and there is a TEARING sound across the sky. The screen goes in and out from a black screen to the intense running scene.

INT. ALEXS HOUSE - NIGHT

Alex sits alone in a quiet room. He wears a mysterious looking device over his eyes, similar to glasses and examines it in his hands. The device is clear and wraps around the head and in front of the eyes. It looks like series of stacked laurel leaves making a wreath-like ring around the head.

ALEX (V.O.)My name is Alex. I've lived alone and in the shadows for centuries, clinging on to whatever continues to sustain me in this desolate world. Im a vampire and like most of the others that have already perished, I dont know how much longer I can survive.

EXT. CITY BUILDINGS - AFTERNOON

City Buildings are shown and the light from the sky is very intense and bright. There is a hazy glow to everything and the colors are muted

ALEX (V.O.)In the year 2215, humans depleted all the earths resources due to their excessive waste. Incessant pollution caused a complete collapse of the ozone layer resulting in massive amounts of UV light penetrating into the atmosphere. Vampires were nearly wiped as the UV light continually bombarded the earth, even into the night. Now we only have a few hours before dawn when we can come out of the shadows and feed.

INT. Alexs HOUSE - NightAlex continues to examine the device in his hand.

ALEX (V.O.)Humans created a device called a Decipher that accesses memories and projects them directly onto the retinas.

EXT. ABANDONED CITY BUILDINGS - AFTERNOON

Two homeless and ragged people or street rats are seen laying in the shade of abandoned builds wearing Deciphers and sexually pleasing themselves.

ALEX (V.O.)It is now 2220 and most humans have been reduced to nothing more than shells, endlessly reliving sexual desires through their own memories or stolen from others.


Alex puts on the Decipher.

INT. MANSION LATE 1800S - NIGHT

Point of view of Alex looking at his bloody hands. A woman named VERA stands over him. Vera is a vampire and appears to be only 23 years old. has blood on along her mouth and smiles down at Alex. Alex struggles to breath.

VERAThe pain will reside shortly now. I do not like to see you in such agony my dear Alexandre.

Alex continues to struggle until his vision fades away to darkness.

INT. MANSION LATE 1800S - NIGHT

The screen is black.

VERA (O.S.)Alex. Alex. Alex wake up.

Point of view of Alex openings eyes to see Vera standing above home.

ALEX(pained)

My head. What have you done to me?

VERA(angry)

What have I done to you? I have given you life. Not that fragile existence of humanity but I have made you immortal. Do not take the gift I have bestowed upon you so lightly.

Vera bars her teeth to show her fangs.

ALEX(in disbelief)

How can this be? What are you?

VERA(cunningly)

Im a vampire and I am your maker.

A BEEPING noise over takes all sounds.


Alex takes off the Decipher and breathes heavily. He waits a moment and puts it back on.

INT. HOME - NIGHT

From Alexs point of view. He looks down at a dead body and then then his bloody hands. He has just fed. He looks up at Vera and she smiles cunningly.

VERANow that wasnt so hard was it darling.

ALEXI dont know if I cab do this.

VERADont be so daft you fool. In time you will learn to feed without killing them.

A BEEPING is heard.

ALEXS House - Night

Alex is laying still with the Decipher still on his head.

INT. CHAPEL - NIGHT

Point of view from Alex. Vera is dressed in all white is what is supposed to represent a makeshift wedding dress. DUKE and MICHAEL, both vampires who are also appear to be in their 20s are also present. Duke is officiating a wedding ceremony between Alex and Vera.

DUKEAnd do you take Alexandre Pauloski to be your lawfully wedded husband?

VERAI do for eternity.

DUKEBy the powered vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.

Vera leans in towards the camera as the screen fades away.


Alex lays against the wall with the Decipher still on. He is very still as if hes paralyzed.

EXT. PARK - SUNNY AFTERNOON

A point of view shot of Alexs hand looking up towards the sky and directly into the sun as it shines through the trees.

ALEX (V.O.)I come back to this memory more often then I should. I can almost feel the warmth of the sun.

A BEEPING noise is heard.


Alex jerks awake and rips the Decipher off of his head. He sits up and is breathing heavily. He looks over to his left and we see Veras dead body laying next to him. It has been laying next to him the entire time. Alex turns his head away and puts the Decipher back on his head.

5.

INT. ALEXS MIND - NO SPECIFIC TIME

A series of faces from Alexs life continually flash in front of the screen in a long montage.


Alex slowly takes off the Decipher and throws it across the room smashing it. He gets up and walks towards the door. He looks back at Veras dead body and turns his head forward. He whispers to himself.

ALEXIm sorry.

Alex opens the door and it is dark outside. He walks into the night. The screen cuts to black as his SCREAMS can be heard in the darkness.

FADE OUT.
