WHAT: The Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County (CRCMC) annual Peacemaker Award Celebration aims to bring light to one of the many people in our community who, through their efforts, have made peace an option for more people. This year Honorary Chairs, County Executive Ike Leggett, First Lady Catherine Leggett and the members of the CRCMC community are proud to honor Police Chief J. Thomas Manger as our Peacemaker of the Year.

Chief Manger is credited with reorganizing and expanding the Police Department’s Community Policing efforts. His commitment to the highest ethical standards for policing and his enactment of new policies to increase departmental accountability earned significant recognition from the community, including the Fairfax County Human Rights Commission Award for outstanding contributions, and the N.A.A.C.P.’s Community Service Leadership Award. In 2012, Chief Manger was inducted into the Montgomery County Human Rights Hall of Fame.

The Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County, Inc.

(CRCMC) is a non-profit organization that began in 2001. Since

then we have been committed to helping the people of

Montgomery County find solutions to their conflicts.

We offer conflict resolution and prevention services to

residents, businesses, volunteers, government agencies, and

non-profit organizations throughout Montgomery County.

CRCMC mediates a wide variety of conflicts: relationship,

neighbors, employers and employees, businesses and their

clients, family members, parents, parents, and friends.

We also low-cost training for businesses. The goal of these

trainings are to provide participants with the skills to prevent,

manage, and resolve conflict. We offer trainings in: Conflict

management, Communication and Listening Skills, Conducting

Meetings, and Relating to Customers and Employees
