The overall learning need identified by our physicians’ education committee was for practical, evidence-based, up-to-date medicine that can be applied in the clinical setting. Needs in a wide variety of subject areas were identified. This program will address the areas of: Adolescent Medicine, Dermatology, Infectious Diseases, Pediatric Gastroenterolo- gy, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Sports Medicine.This is an opportunityto once again reconnect, learn together, share ideas, visit with old friends, make new friends, and return home refreshed with new knowledge and relaxed from three to four beautiful days in exciting Las Vegas. At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to: Registration and Message Center The AAP-CA on-site registration desk will be open on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and during the meeting from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Upon registration you will receive an electronic flash drive syllabus and folder with meeting information. Other Information There is a continental breakfast and coffee service for registered attendees only in the exhibit halls each morning. Coffee service is maintained through the midway break each day. There are luncheon seminars on Friday and Saturday. The six Friday seminars are repeated on Saturday to allow the registrants to attend as many as two different seminars. There is an extra charge of $80 for each luncheon seminar. Seating is limited. Once maximum seating has been reached, registration for that luncheon seminar will close. Please indicate a second choice and register at least three days in advance. • Review Updates and current information related to GERD • Understand the current epidemiology and clinical finding of COVID-19 in children • Review current information on COVID-19 in all age groups and locations • Recognize the fact that there are other serious viral infections • Understand the complex and important issues with Parechoviral infections in infants and children • Review the popularity of vaping and its many risks • Learn about depression and an overview of possible therapies Understand the key principles of motivational interviewing • Develop MI (motivational interviewing) tools you can use in practice • Recognize current trends in adolescent sexual activity and its consequences • Understand how to prevent overuse injuries in young athletes • Define the different types of patellar issues and anterior knee pain • Moral injury/burn out. How bad is this issue? • Address various GI problems in children in a new light The Annual Las Vegas Seminars will be held this year at the exciting Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The usual attendance at our conference, now in its 42nd year, is between 500-600 practitioners representing Pediatricians and Allied Health Professionals from all parts of the United States and from many foreign countries. After a year away due to COVID-19, there has been an overwhelming response to return to the comradery of combining in-person interactions with friends, colleagues, and faculty with continuing medical education, and we are excited to welcome you back! We thank our many excellent speakers - a true all-star cast of the most knowledgeable educators in pediatrics and pediatric subspecialties. Most of all, we are grateful to our meeting registrants for their continuing interest and enthusiasm.
