Youngest Non-Profit Founder Holds Charity Art Show and Auction to Benefit Children with Cancer/Special Medical Needs FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 9, 2010 Local Charity Provides Help to Hospitalized Children Saturday, February 13, 2010, 10:00am to 3:00pm, Driskill Hotel, 604 Brazos Street, Austin, TX AUSTIN, TX (February 9, 2010) Pennies of Love (www.penniesoflove.org ), a not- for-profit 501(c) (3) organization, founded by 10 year old Briana Vogel, will be holding a charity art show and auction to benefit children with cancer and other special medical needs. The event is made possible by sponsorship of Ariel Art Galleries, Inc. (www.arielartgalleries.com ), the generous venue donation by The Driskill Hotel, and donations by local Austin businesses. The event is open to the public; however, if you cannot attend and would like to make a donation, please visit www.penniesoflove.org . Items at the art show and auction include: An original oil painting of the UT tower signed by Football Coach Mack Brown, by local artist Tere Kovacs, along with over 200 other oil paintings of Ariel Art Galleries, Inc. (www.arielartgalleries.com ) The flag flown over the Texas State Capital on July 4 th , 2008, in honor of Pennies of Love Dance lessons, Soothing Massage sessions, Restaurant certificates and; Other items provided by local Austin businesses Ten-year-old Brianna Vogel started the Pennies of Love project when she was just five years old and at the age of seven, made it a non-profit organization so that she could help more children. Come help support Brianna and her worthy cause. About Pennies of Love Brianna’s Pennies of Love (www.penniesoflove.org ) is a 501(c) (3) organization with the mission of providing art and craft supplies to the Outpatient Children’s Hematology and Oncology Center playrooms at The Strictly Pediatrics building located next to the Dell Children’s Hospital. The Hemo/Onco Center serves children from Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, Georgetown, Pflugerville, and other outlying areas. These children have special medical needs and can be at the hospital anywhere from one to eight hours a day for medical treatment with little to do. As this organization has grown, she is now providing supplies to the inpatient playrooms and “Isolation Bags” to children who are unable to go leave their rooms. This year she is hoping to do even more
