Penumbra Inc. Position: Inventory Control Coordinator

Inventory functionalities: Penumbra Inc., uses a centralized based enterprise resource planning system; QAD Database

Application. Benefits of using a centralized based ERP system:

o Eliminates the duplication, discontinuity and redundancy in data.o Provides information across departments in real time

Systematically catalog various medical products by transferring post-sterile quarantine units to finished goods.

Responsible for the application of FIFO inventory method when allocating specific serial numbers onto shipping invoices and filing proper material requisition transfers to document inventory transactions.

Compile daily cycle count reports; examine device history reports when inventory variances arise.

o Device history report (DHR): a DHR is applicable for manufacturing processes necessary to support verification, validation, and product commercialization.

o a product specific document package consisting of:o the dates of manufacture, the quantity manufactured, the quantity released for

distributiono the acceptance record which demonstrates the device is manufactured in accordance

Analyze lot histories and past transactions for various medical devices when conducting inventory investigations.

Electronically issue damaged products to reproduction and rework locations. Complete work order component issues and reprocess labels for reworked medical devices.

Shipping Functionalities: Manually transact purchase order invoices from the customer service department. Ensure invoices are configured accurately by allocating necessary products with proper serial lot

numbers. Notify proper personnel if certain items are on backorder. Responsible for compiling commercial invoices, accurately converting the currency values of

products onto customs forms, generating certificate of origins, and ensuring shipments are in compliance with international laws when shipping globally.

Properly communicate with various freight forwarder companies when assembling bulk palletized international shipment orders.

Formulate electronic packing lists when shipping clinical products to investigational laboratories.o This includes blood samples and synthetic blood clots

Physically label Special Access Products with consignment stickers when applicable.o Special Access Product(s): unapproved products that are supplied to a physician or

hospital on a case by case basis, in accordance with country specific regulations.

Marketing functionalities: Responsible for fulfilling marketing coordinators and sales reps DEMO order requests.

This includes, physically pulling products from various locations, electronically transacting specific requests, and issuing products out of our database to maintain a balanced inventory count.

DEMO: distributing non-human use product to Penumbra personnel, outside consultants and distributors.

o Product distributed for demonstration and registration purposes.o Product whose use is intended for sales support. This product is used as part of the

sales process to educate and/ or train physicians and customers. Demo Product also includes all product utilized at professional conference/symposia.

Requires inventory coordinators to issue existing products out of the QAD database to ensure inventory is balanced.

Must accommodate sales reps and marketing coordinators request in emergency situations: patients undergoing surgery, travel stock replenishments.

Reserve restricted goods for marketing purposes in our QAD Enterprise Application database.

used to scan products, conduct cycle count reports, verify correct products in sales orders

Registration Product: product whose use is intended to support the Health Authority approval process.

Standard catalog products: products manufactured from the company’s own standard specifications and sold from stock without any modifications or customizing.

Intercompany order: an order placed by a Penumbra distribution center.
