Dear Parents and Caregivers.
Castiel Togiatomai, Logan Touch,
Dante Maxwell, Kaiya Bing, Abdul
Mannan, Gershom Adams, Adeela
Bi, Mike and Rose Laauoleola,
Cristyn and Ben Ngaluafe, Kley
Ninofranco and Hamed Mohammedi.
We welcome you all back to the start
of the second term and certainly the
smiles are still showing!!. With our
lovely weather continuing we have a
wonderful school environment full of
happy children, a myriad of colours
of trees and gardens, and warm dry
weather. Long may this last!
Teachers use this second term to
plan and implement class
programmes suited to their pupils’
needs and as identified by testing
completed last term. At the end of
this term all parents will receive a
formal written report giving you
information on where your child is
placed in Reading, Writing and
Mathematics as against the National
Standards of New Zealand. A
‘learning conferences’ discussion will
also be available in the last week
being the Wednesday 6th and
Thursday 7th July. A special
newsletter will be sent out mid term
providing you all with details on this.
Board of Trustees Elections.
These are scheduled for taking place
next month being June. Every school
family will receive a letter with all
appropriate documentation as sent to
the home address listed officially on
our school database. The official
Returning Officer Graeme Brown
runs this election as per Ministry of
Education and School Trustees
guidelines. If you have any
questions in this regard feel free to
contact the school office and Mr
Brown’s contact details will be made
available to you.
Remembrance Garden. Over the
last holidays this major project was
started and should be completed
within the next week. The planning
for this special garden has been
ongoing over the past 10 years, and
it is lovely to see this plan coming to
fruition.
The recognition of pupils and
members of our school community
and Board of Trustees who have
sadly passed away has been in our
minds for many years. The present
Board members are so happy that
this recognition can now be
formalised with the construction of a
beautiful peace garden with special
plantings, sun dial, water feature,
carvings and seating areas. A very
special opening will be taking place
over the next fortnight and our
school leaders are working on the
format of this opening over the
coming days. I hope you enjoy the
photos of the construction stages of
this area that was only started 2
weeks ago. A wonderful
achievement from all involved with
this project.
Kindest regards
Graeme Gilbert
