Some ways we do this are daily Bible study, evening vespers services, worship songs, cabin talks, and fun games and crafts that reinforce the day's theme. Our trained staff teach a non-denominational curriculum designed with the campers in mind. There is no better place for your camper to connect with God and have a blast doing it! Summer Adventures with Flat Paul
Last summer, many people took Flat Jesus with them on their summer adventure. We have photos of him having fun in Mexico and Moscow. We have photos of him relaxing with family and friends and touring the sights.
This summer as we prepare for our VBS adventures with Paul, you are invited to take Flat Paul with you. We don’t want you to miss your relationship with the church and with scripture.
Flat Paul helps all of us stay plugged into our faith throughout the summer months—giving families a unique opportunity to continually engage in their faith development all summer long!
Take a picture and tag on social media #FlatPaul. It will be fun to see his adventures this summer. You can pick up your Flat Jesus at church to take home and color.
American Sign Language Are you interested in learning ASL? We are beginning to gather a family friendly group on Sunday after worship to learn some basic signs. If you are interested, please contact Pastor Martha.
“O God, from my youth you have taught me,
and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.”

Pentecost Sunday
Across the United States and around the world, the Pentecost
Offering helps young people achieve their God-given
potential. Children at risk, ministries with youth and Young Adult Volunteers benefit from the Pentecost Offering. This
year, forty percent of the offering will be to support the
NEPA Youth Shelter located on Wyoming Avenue. Pray about
how you can support this offering. We can make a
difference in the lives of young people here and around the country! Offering envelopes
are in the church pews.
Calling All Graduates!
Join us for VBS! Monday August 5th—Thursday August 8th
5:15 P.M.—7:15 P.M.
This VBS experience is unlike anything you have experienced at church. We will be immersed in Bible-time culture, the reality of God’s love gains new meaning and relevance to everyday life.
While past it’s glory days, Athens was considered the center of
culture and intellectual thought when Paul arrived in the ancient city. Imagine what Paul had thought.
Paul had dedicated his life to sharing the truth about Jesus. But
consider his most recent experiences as he began his second missionary journey. Paul had a major disagreement with his friend Barnabas, and they parted ways. Then he and Silas were beaten and thrown in prison in the next town, Thessalonica.
Kids and adults will travel in small groups called Oikos. What’s an Oikos? Oikos is the Greek term for “household” or “family.” At Athens VBS, an Oikos will travel together and learn together. Together they will look for evidence of God in everyday life. As we prepare for VBS, we are looking for a variety of donations. Some items we are looking to be donated and some items we are looking to borrow for the week of VBS. Be sure to check at the church for a poster to sign-up to donate items.
Some items that we will need include: Markers, Glue Dots or masking tape, Pool noodles 9 ounce clear cups , Rope lights, Burlap or old looking bags 1” thick foam, Medium and large Cardboard boxes clear packing tape or duct tape
You can sign up for VBS at any time by letting Pastor Martha know and contact her with any questions.
Covenant Church will recognize graduates during worship on Sunday, June 2, 2019. If you are a church member graduating or have a child graduating—please call Patti Ollendyke at the church office ASAP!
