CUSTOM PHOTO BOOTH AT CARROLLWOOD OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE, July 2017Implemented a form of “EATertainment” to drive incremental traffic, engage with customers and bring fun to the Brand. Restaurants are venues for social gatherings and what’s more social than engaging in a mini photo session with friends and family? Installed a custom, free-to-use, self-serve photo booth at our newly renovated Carrollwood location. It was a low risk, high reward project costing less than $10k to produce and install. The objective was to build the Outback Brand and encourage guests to share their moments of togetherness, ultimately resulting in repeat customers looking forward to their next Outback visit.

RESULT: Within the first two months of usage, the booth collected over 4,000 unique email and phone numbers to add to the database.

PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE EVOLUTION, 2016-2017I was challenged by the CMO to transition from perfectly staged photos to images that had more craveability and excitement. See aprilreyes.com for a few before and after shots.

MENU DESIGN EVOLUTION, 2016-2017Outback held focus groups to learn what our customers wanted to see in a menu. Under my art direction, the menu was redesigned and transformed from a cartoonish, playful design to a “serious about steak” look and feel. Photography evolved to a more craveable approach and fonts were modernized.

As a result of the overall success of this creative change, we implemented the new design rules to the limited time offer/specials menus as well.
