Farm Rats

-good source of protein, can be cooked with coconut milk which is called in the Philippines as “ginataang daga,” or with tamarind which is called “sinampalukang daga.” -can also be cooked into adobo or simply deep-fried with breading to make it taste real good.

Farm Frogs-green creatures can be cooked the same way as the rats mentioned earlier, although it can be roasted and made into “rellenong palaka” or stuffed frogs.

Crickets-rich in nutrients and it is juicy and flavorful. 

Grasshoppers-tastes like shrimp.

Bats-  tastes like chicken for the

nth time - best cooked in adobo or

fried - The bats can be boiled

using various flavorings and this is considered a delicacy all over Asia.

Beetles and Bettle Larvae

-roasted, cooked in adobo or sauteed with salt and seasonings. -rich in protein and juicy and the tenderness of these humble insects will truly leave a good taste to the local folks here. - "salangubang“- The cooked beetle is crisp

and juicy can be accompanied with hard liquor.

Camaro -field crickets cooked in soy sauce, salt, and vinegar as it is popular in Pampanga.

Papaitan  is goat or beef innards stew flavored with bile that gives it a bitter (pait) taste.

Soup No.5 / Soup #5-is a soup made out of bull's testes

-It is believed to have aphrodisiac properties.

-can be found in restaurants in Ongpin St., Binondo, Manila

Pinikpikan na manok -involves having a chicken beaten to death to tenderize the meat and to infuse it with blood.

-It is then burned in fire to remove its feathers then boiled with salt and itag (salt/smoke cured pork).
