Principal’s Message
Jaguar Parents and Students~
WELCOME BACK RETURNING AND NEW JAGUARS! This year
promises to be interesting and non-traditional. We learned
a great deal in the way we ended last year and are
committed to ensuring the best for our students.
The Class of 2021 and future graduating classes will be
challenged with maintaining the successful graduation
rates of past graduating classes while adapting to what
modern-day high school looks like. To achieve this, our
student’s success is predicated on students living the DPHS
Core Values. The Desert Pines Core Values are: Loyalty,
Determination, Community, Kindness, Perseverance,
Honesty, and Growth.
I have been privileged to be the Principal of Desert Pines
High School since 2015. The ability to serve our
community and our students is an honor and I am humbled
to be a part of your child’s lives! It is apparent that the
traditions, pride, and spirit, which resonate throughout this
school, make being a Jaguar remarkable.
To keep parents informed, Desert Pines High School will
communicate with parents through ParentLink messaging,
the Desert Pines High School website
(https://www.desertpineshs.org/), and Infinite Campus.
Please make sure you have access to the Infinite Campus
Parent Portal (http://ccsd.net/parents/infinite-
campus.php). If you need assistance with your Infinite
Campus Portal account please email the Registrar at
[email protected] or call (702) 799-2196, ext. 4065.
The end of the first grading period is Friday, October 9,
2020. Make sure you are checking Infinite Campus to
know how your child is doing in school.
As a reminder, although we are not starting the year on
campus, we will continue to be on a BLOCK SCHEDULE.
Students will be enrolled in 8 classes and will be taking 4

classes per day (on a rotating basis – “A” days and “B” days).
On Wednesdays, students will have the opportunity to work
with all 8 of their teachers. Additionally, please continuously
monitor Infinite Campus regarding your student’s progress in
all classes and discuss the expectation that your student
works with their teachers to ensure all work/assignments are
completed.
Attending school online every day and working effectively
with teachers is expected, please ensure your student attends
their online classes daily. Your support regarding attendance
is essential to develop positive working habits to ensure our
student’s success, both in school and in the workforce.
We are looking forward to an AMAZING YEAR and increasing
the GRADUATION RATE at Desert Pines High School!
All my best,
Mr. Isaac Stein
