ALTERNATIVE FUEL VEHICLESAlternative Fuel Vehicles are no longer a vision of the future. Alternative Fuel Vehicles are here, on our streets, amongour fleets, and around us everyday.

Up until now, many of the Alternative Fuel Vehicles on the road were part of a fleet. Whether from a municipality, amass transit system, or a local shuttle service, the Alternative Fuel Vehicles weve seen have been part of a businessorganization. Whats different now is that the Alternative Fuel Vehicles market is expanding into individual ownership.Individual owners are currently driving passenger vehicles.

As the popularity of Alternative Fuel Vehicles grow, we as firefighters must acquaint ourselves with the technology oftoday and how it will impact our ability to deliver top quality customer service in the safest manner possible.

How will we know when were dealing with an Alternative Fuel Vehicles? What are Alternative Fuel Vehicles? What dowe need to know about Alternative Fuels and Alternative Fuel Vehicles as firefighters?

These and many other questions regarding Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Alternative Fuels will be discussed duringthis one-day program. At the conclusion of the program, you will have a clearer picture of what Alternative FuelVehicles are, how to safely operate in/around them, and identify unique features regarding Alternative Fuel Vehiclesneeding extrication.

The candidate physical ability test (CPAT) consists of eight separate events. The CPAT is a sequence of eventsrequiring you to progress along a predetermined path from event to event in a continuous manner. This test wasdeveloped to allow fire departments to obtain pools of trainable candidates who are physically able to perform essentialjob tasks at fire scenes.
