Central position, looking away from the camera suggesting the model has an attitude. The hood up over the hat also suggests he has an attitude. The eyeline is in the top third of the frame and he is not looking directly at the camera, suggesting he is shy and doesn’t want to be communicated with. He is encoded with the generic costume of hip hop artists, a titled peak baseball cap with a hooded jacket. The cross around his neck directs him the the blingers tribe, which has became a iconic symbol of hip hop and rap music.

The graffiti backdrop connotes the music genre of hip-hop suggesting where the tribes were brought up, listening to the urban, hip-hop music. The boom box suggests that the model has been brought up listening to hip-hop street music and that its inspirational to her. The image is a low angled wide shot which shows her surroundings, suggesting that where she is from is troubled, which coincides with the music genre

Her costume shows her with a hood up and matching trousers, this suggests that she is fashion conscious and cares about her appearance. Her facial expression shows a kind of smug look suggesting that she is envied and has it all. The location looks like some stairs suggesting that she hangs around on the streets which is a connotation of the hip-hop music genre.

This image is a medium wide shot showing 2 boys both wearing peeked hats, this suggests that they are both into the hip-hop urban music, reinforcing this idea is the background, showing a wall full of graffiti. Both of the models are looking to the left away from the camera suggesting that they like to keep themselves to themselves and only let each other know there business.

Influence

• For my front cover a medium close up will be shot on a location with graffiti for a backdrop, and the costume will purposely be street

• Jewellery, hats, hoods, sneakers, boom box, will be the inspiration for the model’s poses.

• A serious, hard face, facial expression will be used to represent the genre.

• I will be aware about where the masthead, features etc will be on the cover

• Eyeline will be in the top third of the cover looking slightly away from the camera

• Double Page Spread shots will also be shot on location, backing up the idea of hip-hop/r&b being on the streets

• A house style of white, black and blue will be used, and the costume will somewhat colour co-ordinate with the house style
