PICC /Midline Insertion Class

Upon  completion  of  the  class  the  participant  will  be  able  to:  

 

• Demonstrate  the  proper  insertion  technique  for  the  PICC  and  Midline  

• Understands  the  indications  for  use  of  these  vascular  access  devices  

• Identify  complications  and  risks  associated  with  these  devices  

• Demonstrate  proper  care  and  maintenance  of  the  two  devices  

• Understands  the  role  in  educating  others  who  care  and  maintain  vascular  access  devices  

• Demonstrates  proper  use  of  ultrasound  and  MST  insertion  technique  

• Describes  proper  maximum  sterile  barrier  precautions    

• Understands  prevention  of  complications  and  infections  of  vascular  access  devices

8  CEU’s  distributed
