First of all, let us praise to the Ida Sang Hyang Widi Wasa, because of His Blessing we are able to attend this congress. Ladies and gentlemen Mental disorders have long been an issue both internationally and in Indonesia. Bali as an international tourist destination is also not free from social problems in the community, including mental disorders. According to the Household Survey of Mental Health (SKJRT) on people in 11 cities in Indonesia in 1995, the prevalence of mental health problems was 185 per 1000 adult population or at least one in four people have mental disorders and needs mental health care. First of all, let us praise to the Ida Sang Hyang Widi Wasa, because of His Blessing we are able to attend this congress.

Ladies and gentlemenMental disorders have long been an issue both internationally and in Indonesia. Bali as an international tourist destination is also not free from social problems in the community, including mental disorders.

According to the Household Survey of Mental Health (SKJRT) on people in 11 cities in Indonesia in 1995, the prevalence of mental health problems was 185 per 1000 adult population or at least one in four people have mental disorders and needs mental health care.

Bali with a population of 4 million is estimated there are 8000 people with severe mental disorders are scattered throughout Bali. This number could be increased because many of the people with mental disorders are not recorded due to either social economics, geography or because of other social problems.

Ladies and gentlemenThe government of Bali Province has long been working together with the people of Bali to alleviate the problem, which are :

Home Improvement Program is intended for the poor who do not have a house or not representative to live. This program has been implemented since 2009 and until the year 2011 as many as 825 housing units, has been conducted.

Health Insurance Bali Mandara (JKBM) is a health insurance program that guarantees health care and health treatment for people who have Bali ID cards.

Integrated mental health service is held in 32 Primary health centers throughout Bali, where the mobile team from the Bali Provincial Mental Hospital visits these centers.Bali- free stocks is a program to alleviate the problem of patients who deprived by society or by the family because of a mental disorder or other social issues.

Another program is Improving the infrastructure of health centers, for instance , the Bali Mental hospital at the moment is increasing the number of inpatient capacity by building new ward. And also, the education and training of human resources is become our priority.

All of these programs that have been implemented by the government of Bali Province is expected to improve the welfare of the people of Bali into a society that MANDARA (Forward, Safe , Peace and Prosperous ).

Thank you for attendance of the Delegates and participants in the congress APMCHD in Bali and hopefully our hospitality, as well as the beauty and uniqueness of Balinese culture can pleased you.
