INSPECTIONThe tire casing will be in line for an initial inspection to assess the condition and degree of wear, including punctures and other evident damages.

VENTING, BUFFING & SKIVINGVenting removes air from the tires. Afterwards, the surface of the tire is buffed, where the rubber is removed and prepared for the new tread. Skives are then filled and conditions it for a new tread.

REPAIRING & CEMENTINGImpairments of tires are removed by replacing these with substantial and durable materials to bring back the usefulness of the casing.

BUILD-UP, TREAD PREPARATION & APPLICATIONThe machine applies the fresh tread, accurately aligned with the casing. The uncured tire is enclosed in an envelope-like equipment to ready this for curing.

CURING & DEMOUNTINGCuring time for each chamber takes approximately four (4) hours. Each chamber operates on 12 tires. The new tread is bonded to the prepared tire casing, which will finally be put in the chamber.

FINAL INSPECTIONAfter curing, the tire is subject to a rigid inspection to ensure quality worksmanship of the product before delivery.

The retreading process is done carefully and meticulously to ensure that the whole operation will result in superior-quality recapped tires. The cold-process system has six (6) major stages. Pilkai has ten (10) units of patented major equipment, and with their state-of-the-art technology, the company can guarantee that finished products conform with international standards.

TIRE CONTROL SYSTEMThis part of the program educates clients on how to establish a tire monitoring system.

TIRE SEMINARThe purpose of the seminar is to assist and teach all personnel connected to tire maintenance. They will learn the following:• Basic tire knowledge• Basic care and maintenance• Proper tire inflation• Causes of premature tire failures

FLEET INSPECTIONIt is just as vital to provide our clients with information on how their tires work on the ground. We give basic knowledge for these important factors:• Tire maintenance pressure• Tire condition

SCRAP TIRE ANALYSISIn this part of the program, clients learn what causes tire failures and how to prevent them from happening.

Because Pilkai wants you to optimize the supreme quality of your newly-retreaded tires, our team has designed a Tire Management Program (TMP) for our partners. This program aims to assist our clients who are looking for techniques on how to cut down their yearly expenses on tires, which is the second most costly after fuel. Here, you will see what you, as our valued client, will learn from our TMP:

AFTER-SALES SERVICE

All tire treads and repairs are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for the tread life. Customer’s casing is NOT warranted.

Retread failures occurring within the first 2/32 inch of the tread wear shall be guaranteed a full refund on the price of the retread, including repairs. Any failure after the first 2/32 inch of the tread wear shall be adjusted on a pro-rated basis.

Any in-service failure of Pilkai’s retread and/or repaired tires due to improper use and maintenance—as evidenced by the following conditions—shall NOT be covered by the warranty policy:

• Wrong type of tire for the application• Ply separation due to underinflation or overloading• Reversal of the undertread rubber compound of the original casing

due to overspeeding• Impact breaks• Mechanical irregularities such as misalignment, faulty worn-out wheel

bearing and defective suspension• Improper matching and spacing of duals• Objects lodged between duals

An adjustment is made for the customer if Pilkai’s retreads do not meet its expected service life, subject to the terms and conditions of the warranty. This can be done by either issuing a credit memo to the percentage of the remaining tread depth, or re-processing the retread tire charging only the percentage of the actual tread wear.
