British American Tobacco (BAT) is one of the world’s most international businesses with more than 200 brands in their portfolio sold in around 180 markets worldwide. With staff of more than 55,000 people across the globe, their work force is strongly multi-cultural and diverse.

When B.A.T decided to establish their new Global IT offices in the prestigious London Docklands development, the company wanted to reflect their diversity and so proposed a unique themed zone for each of the 5 floors, from computer, to bubble and even space. The starting point for the design was the stunning living towers by Vitra which framed the Amoeba Lounge Chairs in the Brain zone.  This led onto the main focal point of the whole project which was the bespoke designed and

manufactured Pyramid shelving tower. Dominantly situated as you enter the 3rd floor, the pyramid emphasises the strength of the brand and its bold individual style. Working closely with Mick How, Pink Apple Designs guided the project, from conception, to design all the way to successful installation. The project was completed within budget and on time within the deadline of six weeks. Pink Apple Designs helped to specify, source and supply the unique and “stand out” break out furniture to complement each zone.

The Results Working directly with the Architect and Client.

The brief specified for a "bright and airy feel" which was achieved by the use of vibrant colours. Five very distinctive and unique areas were created to enhance the working environment.  The impression created by each zone clearly highlights the diversity and multi-cultural appeal of B.A.T. whilst the bold colours emphasises the company’s strong global brand.
