Genre of magazine – Women’s lifestyle
Gap in the market – Even though women's lifestyle magazines are popular, this one will appeal to teens and will look at alternative topics such as dealing with anxiety, as pose to normal fashion articles.
Disadvantages - Even though my magazine is an alternative look at the women's lifestyle genre. As there are many women's lifestyle magazines around my product might not get noticed.
Mock up’sTo get a better idea of what my audience wants, I created 2 versions
of one of my DPS’s. The first version was formal, the other was
informal. I then carried out some research to see which one my
audience preferred and what characteristics they liked.
Mock up 1Positives:
The images
have good
placement as
they break up
the text.
The images
give it more
energy
The bright
colours in the
imagery make
the article look
appealing
Negatives:
X The
background
is plain
which is
quite boring
X There is too
much text
X The images
don’t have a
clear link to
the article
Mock up 2Positives:
The layout
is creative
The quote
insert
breaks up
the text
well.
The
imagery
connects
well with
the article
Negatives:
X Three
columns
makes the
article look
lengthy
X Quite a
plain cut
style of font
X Article
looks quite
formal
Feedback

better because:
• The article looked less formal so was
more welcoming

understand due to background and
main image
