This exploratory project is meant to add addi-tional functionality to the Pivotal Tracker plat-form in order integrated into real time prepro-duction and collaborative workflows.
Pain Points This Product Solves:
It is hard to collaborate and brainstorm when you are a distance worker.
There are no tools on the mobile and web based market that offer this level of functionality and col-laboration between team members in real time.
I initially conducted extensive research into existing Pivital Labs applications as well as the user community around it and integration of lean and agile development methodologies.
Brainstorm Buddies will allow remote workers and in house employees to have equal buy-in during the design sketching /white boarding phase during the conceptual phase of project.
User Story 1Amy is a software developer working remotely and the outback of Australia she is involved in project management for a major firm in Perth and she likes to participate in design thinking/ideation faces for new projects at her company. due to a major illness with one of her close to him and numbers you simply unable to come to the office but her feedback and participation within the ideation meetings is crucial to the company success so she uses brainstorm buddies in order to connect with her team remotely. She likes the fact that brainstorming buddies allows her to send messages as well as have video chats all in an open environment with simple tools.
User Story 2James is the new development intern at a company. You can't always contribute to the brainstorming sessions with his company Mentor due to his class schedule but the off-line development I dear boards/mood boards are available to him 24 hours a day whenever he is not busy with classwork or isn't busy with other social activities. James can also directly message his fellow interns about their own ideas with inbuilt chat features.
User Story 3Marco is a manager who is in charge of several software development projects at once. He has trouble managing multiple projects any sleep due to the teams unique composition as well as the different organizational strategies used to manage each project. By using brainstorm buddies it provides a consistent mood boarding/ide-ation platform that he can navigate without having to contact each team members scrum captain individually. He also likes the fact that he can add indications to ideas as well as get feedback on his suggestions in real time.
The standard drawing tools are present including, thin and thick markers, as well as the omnipresent eraser.
The interface is deliberately minimalistic and simple so as to not complicate the design thinking process.
The interface since it is so simple relies on intuitive gesture based commands to provide additional functionality such as clicking and holing a blank space on the canvas to insert an image.
The open nature of the canvas and simplistic tools mimic the creative brain storm-ing process on white boards and sticky notes/ card sorting exercises.
And since the ecosystem is connected with pivotal tracker it will strengthen Pivital Labs market position in the project management software market.
The tools allow for distance based collaboration on an equal open environment that incorporates notetaking sketching and other easy to use ideation tools
